You misunderstand, I think.

What he's talking about is that, if you think about it, everything we see happen has already happened.
Yeah - light speed is intimately tied into spacetime unlike sound waves.

I'm sure Matt has no clue - but we already knew that. ;)

Thats because you can only be in the exact same space at the same exact moment in time, only once because of the space time causal relationship and by the time you perceive it, the moment has already passed.

But it's something few people really think about - so I'd thought I'd throw it in there.

You should also look into some of the cognitive studies done over the past couple of decades. We've always known that there was ~1s delay between an action occurring and us realizing that an action had occurred. It turns out there is also a delay in conscious awareness of an action in addition to the physical delay of the brain getting the physical message. All of which leads to what we perceive being farther and farther removed in time from Now.
