God is everything creation isn't:

The creation has an end an limits, God is endless and without limits.

The creation always consists of parts and atoms, God is one and undivisible.

The creation is flawed and fallible, God is without flaw and infallible.

And so on...

God is ultimately beyond definition. We can say some things about God, but we should recognize that God is beyond the ability of the human mind to explain. It's easier to point to God via poetry or other artistic means. One can also experience God directly, but when this happens, it only demonstrates further the truth of apophatic theology. I think one of the best descriptions of a vision of God ever is to be found in the final canto of Dante's Divine Comedy, study of which I heartily recommend to anyone seriously interested in spirituality.

"Define God"

The first cause, the absence of chaos, the laws of physics and nature. Take your pick or include them all.

God is the word that humans invented to describe the indescribable. Where there is a gap in our knowledge, you'll find god.

God is the only thing big enough to fill an empty mind.

What are the minimally required attributes that a thing must have in order to be considered a god?

I'm not taking about your god if you believe in one, I'm talking about the abstract concept of a god. What criteria must a thing meet before you would be willing to allow it to have the designation of a god.

My list:
1.) It must have an intelligence above and beyond what humans would be capable of attaining.
2.) It must have an abilities above and beyond what humans would be capable of attaining.
3.) It must have a stake in the day to day happenings of our universe.
4.) It must regularly influence our world, and it must do so based upon some moral code.

1. A god would have to be the creator, first and foremost.

2. He must also be above and beyond the reach of all other physical forces of nature. In other words, God cannot be subject to the whims of outside forces. He must be the champion of them.

3. God must have the power to end the universe at any given moment or fire up another one.

4. God must not only be the ruler of all that is; he must be all there is.

The only thing that is needed is your belief.

In my opinion this god entity would only require one aspect to automatically qualify for the rest, being infinite. Any force that is infinite is everywhere, all pervading, making it omnipresent. Any force that is omnipresent is within us and therefore containing consciousness and intelligence. Any force that has no beginning or end is eternal and unaffected by time. And any force that is infinite, all pervasive, conscious and eternal is all powerful having complete control. That is "IF" there is such an infinite force.

Most scriptures elude to such a Being have a singular and plural nature, which I think has to be experienced, rather than explained. I believe it's possible that if there's a god, then this being is acting out all the parts in this play we call life and we're all the different characters.
