What do you find positive or attractive about Islam, i.e. beliefs, charities, etc...?

I don't know enough about it. Don't care to learn. It would have been nice to have learned about the largest religion in the world in school...I'd have enjoyed it in that setting.

They are not likely to drink all of my beer. ;)

Metaphysical expression is part of human nature; to both ponder and discuss the unknowable is part of being human. Having institutions for this purpose is fine and serves as a creative incentive and productive outlet for metaphysical endeavors. Like all institutions, Islam is subject to perversion by those seeking personal gain and power. Like all ideologies, Islam is an abstract object. Like all objects, it is only as good or bad as the individual using it.

I read the book and it is very sullen and negative and mostly a long rant against Jews and Christians and "polytheists" (Hindu's).

As far as the culture goes, I like the modesty of the women all covered up. That originally comes from ancient Judaism however. The Jews and Christian girls and ladies now wear miniskirts.

I like Arabian foods like cuscus and lamb.

I like Chess, and it was Arab invaders who brought it back to the Middle East from India and then the Christian Catholic Crusaders learned it and brought it back to Europe.

I feel that Iranian women are the most beautiful women in the world.

Although Turkish women look good too.

Excellent metaphysical explanation !!!

I would not call Islam an object however.

An object is either a subject or a predicate.

Islam is a notion, and idea.

Just because it is an idea does not make it an object.

Any religion is the opium of the masses. It can be used to do great things and be used to do terrible things. All religion has been used to do good things and negative things and all religions continue to be used to do so.

The largest religion is Christianity.

The largest sect within Christianity is Catholicism.

Islam has 2 sects which when you combine them they are still smaller than Christianity and either one of the two sects is smaller than Catholicism.

This is one of Karl Marx's most famous expressions.

Idea are abstract objects and have no more will of their own than a table.

come to iran.they will drink all beer in 15 minute

Yet another bad mark against the Iranians.
I suppose repeatedly chanting "Death To America" does build up quite a thirst though....so...cheers!!

From my view, the good thing about Islam is that not all of the Islamic believers also believe in the global Jihad "kill all the infidels" thing.

By in large, I believe that the world has very little problem with those that don't believe this, and a great deal of problems with those that do, and are spurred into action on that belief.

I think stopping what you're doing to pray (or reflect or meditate or re-center yourself) would be beneficial for most of us.

Why am I not surprised you would quote Karl Marx?

Good to me? Nothing, the entire faith, as are all, is useless to me.

One of the pillars of Islam is charity, the food during Eid is amazing (Moroccan lamb tagine), Islamic architecture is stunning (Mezquita de Cordoba, La Giralda in Seville, beautiful mosaics, etc). I'm not religious, but you still can enjoy parts of a religious community nonetheless.

You will burn in hell along with the other infidels.
That sounds okay.
Apparently, beer drinking is allowed by the Prince of Darkness.
Although he probably limits beer-swilling to Corona and Bud Light.......as a reminder that you are, after all, in hell.

What kind of charity? I always hear about what churches are doing in the U.S. like food drives, Habitat for Humanity, et...what charities do most Mosques get involved in? Or individual Muslims, how do they like to give?
