Christianity and Homosexuality

As many of you know, homosexuality is now "in."
You sure about that? Is it not more like bigotry is out?

There have been many repeated attacks against Christianity/the religious for following the scriptures that denounce homosexuality.
Bull crap. Give a single instance.

So, what're Christians et al to do?
Live their life according to their beliefs and stay the hell out of other people's lives.

I don't know.
Truer words have never been spoken.

How do Christians who hold to these scriptures manage/cope with this "change"?
What change? Has their faith or beliefs been changed? If so then it was weak and meaningless.

How do you even argue your moral case against homosexuality?
Why do you feel a need to do that?

More and more Christians are being demonized/shunned for even believing the homosexuality is a sin
Do not delude yourself, no one gives a crap what you believe as long as you stay out of other people's lives.

Christians become weaker
Then they were not Christians at all.

These are interesting times.
Indeed, more people can enjoy equal rights.

How are Christians to continue on in their belief against homosexuality?
The same way they believed till now.

Then it will adapt.

no it won't adapt. If you talk to most Christians they do not hate gay people. they simply do not believe in gay marriage and believe that marriage is between a man and a women.
there is nothing wrong with that view point. you can try and paint it however you like but there is simply nothing wrong with it.

When preachers and other religious leaders start pandering to the way of the world they have lost their way and are going against what Christ preached.
there will be few remaining faithful. Christianity however will not die.

As usual ludin you ramble on about completely irrelevant points, ignore whatever is said to you, and simply insist and insist. I have no interest in conversing with you.

as usual you can't actually address the topic. you said it would adapt. the fact is if people try to adapt it then it is no longer Christianity.
it is something other than Christianity being preached.

sorry you don't like the answer just like you didn't like the last one. you don't seem to be able to accept facts you don't like which is a personal issue.
yea you don't like conversing with people that know what they are talking about and can call you out.

I've wasted more time with your nonsense than I should have. Welcome to my ignore list.

What an ugly, hateful comparison you're attempting to make. Jonestown? What's wrong with you?!

IE I can't actually respond to a real argument. ignore me all you want I will still correct any post that you make that is not correct just so others
will get accurate information.

That is what I was thinking. The amish are in no relation to muslims in any stretch. they don't even believe the same things. religious bigotry is alive and well.
Christianity isn't at odds with anything. it is the world that is at odds with Christianity and it will always be. It was the same in the day of Christ and it will be the
same when he returns.

You have people like recruit that say it will adapt or die but forgets his bible verses.

Luke 21:33.

heaven and earth will pass away but my word will never pass away.

why because no matter what the world does Christianity will continue to live. it cannot be silenced into submission. It thrives in adversity and persecution.

You are free to believe what you believe and you are free to engage in public discourse in the US at least based on your beliefs. You do not have a right to win arguments or make laws just because you feel they are the right thing. That is not the nature of democracy.

What kind of BS is this? If there are more of us than there are of you, then we win the argument and we make the laws, that IS democracy.

America is not a Democracy, it's a Constitutional Republic.

there is nothing wrong with that view point.
As long as they do not try to force that view on others by enacting laws that are solely based on such beliefs.

Just as soon as you amend the Constitution. Good luck with that. Will you be holding your breath?

Are there really Christians out there that really believe in everything that the bible says from start to finish?

They'll do with homosexuality what they've done with everything else that's in the bible that is no longer socially acceptable. They change their mind and say something about how really it's just metaphorical or that you aren't reading it the right way.

There have been many repeated attacks against Christianity/the religious for following the scriptures that denounce homosexuality.

The thing is, as what it seems from "Modern" Christians, it's no longer cool to listen to those scriptures.

So, what're Christians et al to do?

Do we keep holding onto these scriptures or do you give in and ignore them? Quite a few Christian sects have "turned" and now ignore those scriptures in the NT/OT, and more turnabout will undoubtedly happen in the decades to come.

What does this mean? What could it mean if God disagrees with modern society? Does it stand that, according to Christianity, a lot of people whether religious or not will be screwed, literally, in the afterlife, assuming the Word of God is true?

I don't know.

How do Christians who hold to these scriptures manage/cope with this "change"? How do you even argue your moral case against homosexuality? Does it even matter any more? To those who have even a shread of belief/adherence to the Scriptures, is this a sign of the times to come? Not sure, really.

We're at a crossroads, folks. More and more Christians are being demonized/shunned for even believing the homosexuality is a sin, and more and more, as time goes by, Christians become weaker as the nation becomes more and more decadent. What happens when scriptures on homosexuality begin to disappear off the record? It's not like it'd be a big deal, right, if most churches already ignored them? Who would care about the difference?

Christians must continue to be in this world, but not of this world. Being "in" this world is to respect the laws of the land, even when they counter God's law. Being "not of" of this world is to know that Biblical truth trumps social norms, which means don't get sucked into this world.

yet other people have no problem doing the reverse. hmm interesting that you denounce one but not the other.

If we had popular votes on the issue, then perhaps you would, but you do not, so you cannot, and not all religious people aspire to be tyrants so your majority still likely would not be.

we did have a popular vote on the issue and many people voted against it.

Indeed, even here in relentlessly wrong-wing California, the people twice voted, overwhelmingly, to uphold and protect genuine marriage, and to reject the legal recognition of disgusting homosexual mockeries thereof; only to have their clearly-expressed will overturned by corrupt judges.

I'd like to see the evidence for this corruption.

So, what're Christians et al to do?

Simple.

If you are attracted to your opposite sex then express it.

If you are attracted to your same sex then express it.

Simple.

All Christians cherry pick scripture to suit their ends. Some form of this political bent will likely survive for eons.

That's Democracy, Bob, when the people speak you file suit with a sympathetic court to get their vote thrown out and call the voters "tyrants" for having voted in the first place.
