Re: Prayer Requests
thanks again!!
thanks again!!
I think that is not a very good idea. Why give ammunition to people who don't believe in the power of prayer?
God doesn't answer every single prayer. He hears you, but doesn't always give you what you want. There may be reasons down the road that we don't know about.
I pray that she gets what she needs with those migraines and insomnia.I'd like to pray for a friend of mine named Kim who attends the same gym as I do. She has two issues on a pretty regular basis that I would hate to have, one is migraines and another is insomnia. She's married with kids and is the sweetest person with the best smile and such a good work ethic in the gym and I really like her and hope and pray God relieves her of these problems. Amen!
I am such a believer in prayer. I so do believe with all my heart it changes things. But there is a part of me who desires for the Lord's return to end the insanity. I will pray for Kim as JC requested and I will pray for all the children of the world as Nota has requested.
You know I started this thread because there is a need to share. The person I started this thread over is Kelly. Kelly was born with birth defects that did not allow her to grow into an adult. They never thought she would live past 12 but because of prayer she has well surpassed that. She completed high school and went on to obtain her degree in college. And she accomplished all of this with only having her index finger able to function and the rest of her body is paralyzed. 2015 has been a hard year for Kelly. She first encounterd an infection in her lungs that was touch and go for weeks but through prayer overcame it. But a couple of months later she was involved in a horrible car accident. The van that transports her in her wheelchair is designed to secure the wheelchair in travel. Unfortunately someone texting on their phone rear ended the van so hard that the restraining straps for the wheelchair broke. The chair fell over and Kelly broke several bones. One of the bones she broke was her hip bone. She layed in agony for weeks at a local hospital for the mending unfortunately the hip bone did not mend so that meant an additional surgery. It occurred on Christmas Eve with three surgeons trying to put her back together again. It was a success because of prayer. Truth be known the surgeons prepared the family for failure and Kelly would spend the rest of her days bedridden unable to sit in her wheelchair. Against all odds the surgery was a success. Answered prayer.
So yes anyone with a burden for another, post it here and may they find those willing to pray. For our Lord God Almighty knows their names. Amen.
Thank you so much Pol. The purpose of this thread is for anyone feeling a burden for another to post it and those of faith who believe in the power of prayer add them to their prayer/concern list. There are a lot of hurting people out there. It doesn't matter your political views or even your religious views. To pray for others is above all of that. It is the epitome of what my Lord teaches me in loving others. I hope folks list their personal concerns here so those of faith can pray for them.

First I want to thank everyone for this thread. I am always lifted when interceding for others, but it has come that I am need of some prayer. My mother [stepmother actually] is dying of cervical cancer. The nurses and everyone have said to prepare for it, as it is so bad now they can't give her enough chemo juice to fight the cancer without killing her. She is in Holland, New York and my oldest daughter travels from Toronto to get her to appointments etc.
I am not handling it well, I have had too many close friends die recently and this one hurts real bad. She is in dementia, does not know who I am unless we work at it, thinks she is "cured", but she doesn't know what season it is. My step mother is not saved but believed enough she asked me to often pray for her.
In the meantime, my Jewish Carpenter friend has been hard at work in my life as He reveals more and more. I believe he is teaching me to hear and see with His eyes more and more; amazingly this is happening as I pull away from my church
Myself, I thank the Creator every day. I ask for help for others in need, as my life has been blessed, as in I count my blessings, I am sure your parents had the same old saying.
There was a time when life was pretty grim, I would get up in the morning, say Lord, if you have the time I may need some help today.
Afternoon
I will add your step Mother to my prayers, also your daughter and yourself as each of you travels thru this horrible time.
I noted you mentioned her as your mother first, she is undoubtedly loved by you and the pain is tearing you apart.
So yes, using your term, chat with my Carpenter friend to ask if he can ease the pain that you are all in.
I say chat, as that is what I generally do, just a plain old conversation with Jesus
From an older thread
I got word Saturday that my mother has two maybe six weeks left. Thank you for your prayers

Sad news my friend, as Polgara mentions, I hope it is an easy passing for your mother. Do remember she does live on within you and your daughters heart.
.
Greetings, F&L. :2wave:
I'm so sorry to hear that! I'll pray that she has an easy passing, and that you know our thoughts are with you!

My mother died in her sleep last evening in Buffalo. The cancer had spread throughout her intestines and was crushing her lungs; I am so grateful God spared her a long, suffering death.
My daughter has been with her ad dealing with the family, I ask for prayers for strength for her along with a comforting hand from Jesus, she has done yeoman's service and is really hurting right now.
Now the grieving begins. Yes your daughter was there for your mother. Constant traveling, and now a massive hole in her life has opened.
I never did believe that time heals all wounds, it just lessens the pain.
My heart and prayers are with you, your daughter, family and friends.
In your posts I can see the love for her and the pain. Clearly the love was from what a fine lady she was, how she raised you, cared for you and others.
There is nothing unmanly about crying for the loss of a loved one, it is only a reflection of the loss and the humanity within.
That prayer was answered, she passed in her sleep as the cancer was becoming highly aggressive; she was spared the long suffering cancer often causes.
Thank you for letting me know. I prayed for her every night without fail, and while I'm thankful she was spared suffering, I know it isn't easy to lose a Mother. My thoughts are with you. I've always been told that as long as you continue to remember a loved one, and talk about the things they did, they are never really gone... they're looking after you until they see you again. eace:
She was my step mother and entered my life when I was 18 in journalism school. We became close and grew even closer when my dad had Alzheimer's and yes I am dealing with strange emotions, pride of my daughter and what she has been doing, concern for her now and confused and rattled that Betty won't be in my life anymore. I had plans for the day.....I don't feel like doing anything
It's never easy, as you already sadly know, but she was ready to go, and you will be okay. *big hug*
