Songs you enjoy singing the most in church

I never have either, but this old Little Peggy March song was popularized by the now-old movie Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg starring as the "nun" on the run.

Here is a worship song I have heard sung in various churches, usually very badly. This little church group makes a noble effort (despite the lead's singing so many notes sharp).

"Sing to the Lord's Goodness" was inspired by Dave Brubeck's jazz standard "Take Five":

Brubeck's original:

I've always assumed that when the group had to change its name for contractual reasons from "Alliance" to "Take Six," it was in part a nod to Brubeck's classic.

Here's the secular original:

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight;
Angels, descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest,
I in my Savior am happy and blest,
Watching and waiting, looking above,
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

Song we sang at church:

Song we sand at church.

Song we sang at church.

Song we sang at church.

It's almost that time of year:

Oh my favorite is always Ave Maria. It was my great-grandfather's favorite, and my grandfather's as well. At both of their funerals, my mom and her sisters sang this so beautifully. The five of them used to get recorded singing in church by their priest so he could play their voices for his other congregations he led mass for each Sunday. It was a very rural area, and one priest would travel to all the small churches.

I can't find a version on youtube that was just like theirs, that I remember. I never hear it much anymore, which is good because it will always mean funerals for me. I guess the next time it will be up to me to sing it when my mom passes away. I can wait. No rush.

In church?

hmm thats pretty easy for me, This Little Light of Mine and Oh happy days
