This is also found in the 1940 Hymnal:

O come and mourn with me awhile
O come near to the Savior's side
O come together, let us mourn
Jesus our Lord is crucified

Seven times He spoke
Seven words of love
And all three hours His silence cried
For mercy on the souls of men
Jesus our Lord is crucified

O love of God, O sin of man
In this dread act your strength is tried
And victory remains with love
Jesus our Lord is crucified

O break, O break hard heart of mine
My weak self-love and guilty pride
His Pilate and His Judas were
Jesus our Lord is Crucified

O love of God, O sin of man
In this dread act your strength is tried
And victory remains with Love
Jesus our Lord is crucified

O come and mourn with awhile

A broken heart, a fount of tears
Ask and they will not be denied
A broken heart love's cradle is
Jesus our Lord is crucified
Jesus our Lord is crucified
Jesus our Lord is crucified

Our Lord is crucified
And victory remains with love
Jesus our Lord is crucified

O love of God, O sin of man
In this dread act your strength is tried
And victory remains with love
Jesus our Lord is crucified

"Mine, mine was the transgression/But thine the deadly pain...."

I knew you'd be along, Nota :)

Sadly, there isn't a decent recording of "Go to Dark Gethsemane" or "Take Up Your Cross" on YouTube. I checked three pages--lyrics and instrumentals, awful amateur choir efforts, and several ones of the alternative melody. I burned CDs last night for various colleagues of faith who are observing Lent and have some excellent recordings, but YouTube is what it is, sigh.

I think you'll find these words very powerful, It'sJustMe, and not just for Maundy Thursday (and BTW, Phillips, Craig, and Dean are all Assemblies of God ministers):

And for all, especially those who don't usually post in this forum but currently are:

I knew they were ministers, I didn't know they were AG's. I have that CD at the top, it's my favorite.
