As a chrisitian myself my religion is FOR ME, my relationship with my religion and with GOD is MINE.
Its not yours, its not to be forced on you nor are you to force me how to have it.
What you do with your religion or lack of one is YOUR business, not mine and vice-versa.
Im not to make the laws reflect only my beliefs nor are you to make laws to stop my relationship with my god. etc etc
To each thier own but i think this is a great message
LOVE
Here's where this gets rediculous ...
"I only wanted to Change you."
Guess what, if the gospel doesn't change you, you've got the wrong Gospel, the scriptures tell us to be transformed, to make ourselves anew ... We are SUPPOSED to change, everyone is.
Yes Jesus loved everyone .... but you know what you do if you love someone? You try and bring them to truth, you try and help them to become better ... Jesus loved everyone which is why he commanded them to change, why he said the Kingdom of heaven belongs to the Meek.
Jesus loved the pharasees and the saducees that oppressed the People, but he CONDEMNED them and said that they MUST repent and change.
This sort of nonsense is the worst of liberal "christianity" .... it isn't christianity, it has no theology, it has no ethics, it's just, frankly, ego stroking, "you're Perfect the way you are."
If you really think this, if you REALLY think that Christianity doesn't demand change ... then be consistant, it doesn't demand change from the rapist, the racist, the bigot, the exploiter the oppressor and so on ... if you're christianity has NO ethical Foundation, if Jesus' actual Words and actions and if scripture means nothing .... then Christianity means nothing, it's empty, it's just something that feels good to appeal to, but it's meaningless.
Frankly I'd prefer if the so-called "liberal" (and I mean liberal theologically, not politically), Christians, would just come out and be honest ... they arn't really Christians, they don't really believe Christ is lord and king and God is supreme and all knees must bow before him and he has the right to determine right and wrong ... they are selfians, they worship themselves, and their own ideas.
