More on the homeless Jesus statue

And as I have shown--a single teaching from Jesus would solve manys problems--but teachers of darkness refuse to teach it--

Matt 6:33--Therefore, keep on seeking first the kingdom and his( Jehovah) righteousness, and all these other things will be added.( matt 6-Sustenance, covering, spirituality)==this is a promise from Jesus that his Father( Jehovah) would provide all 3 things daily if needed if they applied that single teaching) and its 100% truth--but they will not teach it.
Its as Jesus taught---- You do not know the one who sent me( Father=Jehovah)
Jesus as well called the one who sent him( Father) THE ONLY TRUE GOD( John 17:1-6,26--verse 6=Jehovah, 26=Jehovah)--- they refuse to believe Jesus over schooled mens dogmas.
This is the true God--John 4:22-24

they are pulling in billions to hide the true God to tickle ears with--you are saved or born again--yet not one of them has seen a single name written in the book of life, nor can they read anothers true heart, nor do they have a clue who can endure till the end( death or Har-mageddon)Matt 10:22---- from these I say---RUN.

THere's another teaching.

Matthew 25:
34 Then the king will say to those at his right hand, ‘Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? 38 And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? 39 And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?’ 40 And the king will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family,[g] you did it to me.’ 41 Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not give me clothing, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, ‘Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, ‘Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

People arn't homeless because they arn't religious enough.

THey are homeless because of social and economic problems .... and I think it's sick that you would suggest that homeless People are homeless because they just don't trust GOd enough, it's sick.

You want to Call youself a christian ... act like one.

James 1
27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.

in order to fix homelessness you have to fix people and that is not an easy thing to do.

You can start With fixing the Things in society that cause People to become homeless .... being homeless does destroy Your psyche, yes, but if you Catch the Things that cause homelessness to begin With it makes a huge difference.

For example, put policies in Place that prevent more forclosures ... for example start a state bank, or what the Church of England is doing, a not for profit pay day lending buisiness that puts the predatory ones in check.

have help for the mentally ill, for the drug and alcohol addicted, for the abused ... have Public housing and so on.

I didnt say helping those in need was bad--but all that offer' is a temporary fix without bothering to teach them the permanent fix--that is the problem. The temporary fix solves today--the permanent fix could solve forever.
That's the big problem in the world--Few seek the kingdom first, very Few seek Jehovah' righteousness. Very few are real followers of Jesus--they do not do this-Matt 16:24--one needs to disown themselves to be Jesus followers--takes a large faith to do that.

This is the world--1Cor 6:9-11, Galations 5:19-21--2Timothy 3--- people who are like this and are practicing these things are being told--you are saved--or born again--or are going to a higher plain of existence--and it is not truth.

I was speaking to a man in another sight who is hooked on drugs but thinks he is saved and going to heaven, I assured under drunkenness--drug addiction is included--as well spiritism mentioned at Galations--the greek word is farmacia.

Many years ago I was given a print of "Agnus Dei," and when the Prado Exhibit came to the United States a couple of years ago, I finally had the opportunity to see the original. Agnus Dei (Zurbarán) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This and other art such as "Homeless Jesus" inspire. The statue's monetary value is limited--sell it at whatever price, use the money to feed the poor, and then the money will be gone. But who knows how many who see this statue but who don't give to charity or who could give more but don't will be inspired to open their hearts and wallets because of it?

The value of the art transcends its monetary value. Inspiration and the call to holiness--to goodness and generosity of both wallet and spirit--are priceless.

One of the most disappointing experiences I had with Catholicism was at St. Joseph Cathedral, which is the seat of the diocese of Columbus. I used to go to mass there on occasion and noticed several times that there was a police officer milling around outside. The day I found out why was my last there and I've never looked back. There was a blurb in the bulletin instructing parishioners not to give to the homeless and/or panhandlers outside the cathedral, that if they wanted something they would have to go to a Catholic soup kitchen, and the police officer was there to shoo away the undesirables. Instruction not to show charity to the poor and the implication that they would have to take two tablespoons of catechism with their meal or go without really rubbed me the wrong way.

I can see why it would.

To be fair, though, the churches in the downtown area of my community (Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian, and Catholic) have had to implement some security measures because of the crime. Break-ins and robberies, of course, but the pastoral assistant of the Catholic church, a woman, was assaulted by someone who was mentally ill. He beat her face in. It used to be that someone who was hungry and homeless who wanted to work would be given shelter and food and a job, but sometimes these days, it's just not safe to do this. I attended a funeral recently at the Episcopal church and saw the sign in the parking lot about locking the car and securing your valuables. So sad...but welcome to reality, sigh.

Yep, we were having Evening Prayer at a Church I served in at one time, and someone broke a woman's window in her car, stole her purse and phone, and this was right next to the building.

That's what I mean. The fact is that we are actually in the world, and sometimes that world requires security cameras. BTW, that Episcopal church is the oldest one in the community and has a historical marker. A few years ago it was vandalized, destroying an entire wall and a stained glass window that was over 130 years old. The first temple in the area was also vandalized at this same time, and the damage was equally sickening.

Yes, it's just stuff. Only mortar and brick and glass. And the congregations and community rallied to help restore what could be restored. The point, though, is that when you have people being assaulted and robbed, something does have to be done. There is no way to be entirely "safe," but very often a church or temple's staff is just one person sitting there in an office and vulnerable, and one more lock and strengthened protocols may keep that person safe.
