Numbers 21 said:
With their patience worn out by the journey,
the people complained against God and Moses,
“Why have you brought us up from Egypt to die in this desert,
where there is no food or water?
We are disgusted with this wretched food!”

In punishment the LORD sent among the people saraph serpents,
which bit the people so that many of them died.
Then the people came to Moses and said,
“We have sinned in complaining against the LORD and you.
Pray the LORD to take the serpents from us.”
So Moses prayed for the people, and the LORD said to Moses,
“Make a saraph and mount it on a pole,
and if any who have been bitten look at it, they will live.”
Moses accordingly made a bronze serpent and mounted it on a pole,
and whenever anyone who had been bitten by a serpent
looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

So let's please not hear any more criticisms of sacramentals like holy water and the like, alright?

I don't think these guys knew what sacramentals were until now...

Can you make an argument out of this?

I mean just because God used something at one point for a special case doesn't make it sound theology for worship.

i don't think worship is the right word to worship a sacrament would be ground for idol worship.

the verse says nothing of worshipping the sacrament but looking at it.

I don't think you are a man of God, and I will never think so because of the impression you have left in some of the other threads.

Ah, but I think you are a fool because you don't me from Adam, you can't prove anything, and since when do atheists have to like me for me to be a man of God?

Trust me, if you did like me I'd really be worried...

Catholics don't worship sacramentals, they use them.

You think me a fool yet you call me an atheist when I made it very clear on these forums I am a deist.

A deist still believes in God, but oh I believe in a god much different than the one in Christianity. My god can care less what one does in this world, he will not discriminate against anything, he will not even interact with anything in this universe.

you're not anything within the church, and if you are, you are part of the reason why the church is such a hate-able entity.

You attack me out of nowhere when I wasn't even talking to you yet you think the Church is a hateful place?

If your God doesn't care what people do in this world you should take a page out of his book and stop bothering people who aren't bothering you.

Yet you do bother me.

Don't I know it? Liberals are always tolerant of other worldviews until they find out that there actually ARE other worldviews.

I understand, I take back the Word worship and replace it With "practice"

I saw on another thread that you are just a kid who likes to stir up trouble. Run along, the adults are talking.

Nice cop out, trouble stirring is expected in the basement, but yes, I'll be off.

I hadn't heard any criticism of sacramentals around here until now. Are you sure this thread is even necessary?

It isn't necessary. Some people just like patting themselves on the back from time to time.
