The situation usually doesn't put you in an advantageous fighting position. You are usually taken out of your home, they shoot your youngest family member while you are unarmed and ask you to choose. You would probably be outnumbered 100 to 1. All of them would be armed except you.
I don't call that fighting. I call that dying with honor. It still fits under Option 2. Also keep in mind you may be asked to decide on behalf of the surviving members of your family which would exclude the youngest one which is already dead.
You are probably right. Lots of people have died under these conditions just this year. How hard is it to convert and then go out for an ice cream? The arrogance of the human spirit puzzles me.
There are martyred people who'd become the inspiration for uprising.
That's how you see some oppressive regimes toppled down. When there is someone or something that unifies the people into action.
It's hard to have unity in the MiddleEast or anywhere that's splintered by tribal wars.
