Some of the things were obvious but other ones you probably never knew. What do you think? If people use Leviticus 18:22 as an evidential panacea for anti-homosexuality arguments wouldn't they have to use the other parts of the bible as well? If you use one you use all and be proud (sucks to be proud in that), you cant be a quasi christian

Psshhh, don't you know that the bible is down to personal interpretation and you can pick and choose which parts specifically apply to you depending on how you feel???

At least, that's what Christians tell me...

Rofl, its pretty tempting though to have a cop-out card that you can decide to use or not to use whenever you don't actually feel like debating.

Darn fundamental Christians :soap

Well, since the basis for Christianity is the NT, and specifically Jesus himself, no that really isn't the case. There are plenty of people who mistakenly think so, both Christians, and rabid anti-Christian zealots who use ig to justify their own hatred of religion, but no, Leviticus isn't Christian doctrine.

You are not allowed to speak woman!

I can't speak for others but I don't simply rely on Leviticus or OT.

Being a Christian, I rely on the New Testament - which happens to reference and quote from the OT!

Oh? Surely that's not Christian, just so to let you know.

If I'm not mistaken, nowhere in both the OT and NT is it said that women are not allowed to speak.

NOBODY ever uses the argument "oh it forbits it in the OT and so that's that" ... it's a strawman, that's never been the argument, the argument comes from the begining of the bible, to the end.

Since women are 2nd class citizens and totally subject to their men, then yes it is so. Also you cant wear jewelry or fix your hair. The only reason you are on this earth is to please your man and bear him children. Hell your man can rape you and it is fully legal according to the bible! So hush up and do your duty!

The issue that I have with levitucus 18:22 is that it is being used out of context. The word 'abomination' is actually the word 'Toe'vah' which means 'Ritualistically unclean'. It deals with 'things you have to cleans yourself of before going into the temple. It specifically is about talking about anal sex. Many people view it as a restriction that is talking about 'male temple prostitution'.

Your reply shows how little you know of the Bible.

Which Bible are you reading?

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless. 28So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; 29for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church

Christians aren't bound by laws in Leviticus, therefore those who use it to condemn homo acts are being stupid christians.

There are verses in the NT which condemn homo acts - don't want to bother to look them up.

If Christian doctrine followed mosaic law then christian leaders would be going off on shell fish. The fact that they aren't should make those unfamiliar with christian doctrine wonder why.

What bible are you reading? The Bible is clearly anti-female from start to finish. For example, technically women are not allowed to teach male children. Nor are they allowed to be bosses over men.

Ahhh....I assume you've been swallowing some feminist propaganda mixed with anti-Christian slander, mostly promoted by those with huge chips on their shoulders, or the uninformed.

Clearly we've got to enlighten you.

Let's begin with Genesis.

18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him."

19 Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.

But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[g] and then closed up the place with flesh. 22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

23 The man said,

“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”

24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Lest you imagine the term "helper" means his servant - as in the movie, The Help - chew on that last verse.

It is a partnership between a man and his wife. It's more than just that, actually....if they are ONE.
Being "one" would indicate equality.

Some feminists will find offense of Eve having been made out of Adam's rib - and named, "WOMAN" - well, those kind of women will find offense at about anything, and people who cater to their looniness , therefore also have some psychological problems, imho!

Believe it or not....I read a feminist article lambasting a man who wrote supporting the feminist agenda! You know what the "offense" was, according to the feminist writer? They don't need any support coming from any men - like as if they can't fight for their own cause all by themselves! Go figure.

Anyway, where in the Bible do you base your claim? Will you cite.

And you ignore the clear anti-female parts of the bible.. /clap.

God made them male and female, which means they are different. You don't have to take that as anti-female, unless you want to. I know there are many who want to. It is much easier to reject God/Christ than to deny thyself, take up thy cross, and follow Him.

Yet, let's look at one of those in context.. you do know what context is, don't you?? Context is when you read the words around a line to see what they are actually talking about.

Let's take Romans first chapter.. If you read the WHOLE chapter, it basically is talking about certain pagan practices, and the whole 'romans 1:26 to 28' is actually the punishment God is supposed to give them for doing pagan practices. That isn't to say it's 'good', but it's a punishment not comdemning.

And, if you notice, all those verses come from the letters of Paul, not attributed from Jesus.

God did not make anything.

Psshhh, don't you know that the bible is down to personal interpretation and you can pick and choose which parts specifically apply to you depending on how you feel???

At least, that's what Christians tell me...

No doubt you go by everything they tell you, even on non-religious things, right? You are to read the Scriptures yourself and test what they are saying. The Bible says that too.

I let Christians educate me on scripture, and what you quoted me on is the conclusion that I have come to based on what they tell me...

Why? There's far too much scripture out there for me to read. The bible, the qur'an, the bhagavad gita, the shinto kojiki, the book of mormon, the book of shadows, dianetics, the torah, the tripitaka, the avesta. Why should I give precedence to the bible? They all claim the same thing, that they are the one true divine work.

And you ignore the clear anti-female parts of the bible.. /clap.

There is no anti-female part in the Bible.
That would mean the female is singled-out for persecution, or maltreatment.....that she has no value.

That's just a spin the ignorant anti-Christians want to use to gain support from feminists .....same way they want to use homosexuals by their false claim that Christians hate homosexuals.

Those who believe those spin are pathetically ignorant of the Bible, and are letting themselves become pawns.

Anti-Christians tend to pick-and-choose verses, and take them out of context.
You do know that there is a part in the Bible that clearly says, "There is no God."...... do you?

Like I've said, why don't you cite a verse to support your allegations! Put your money where your mouth is....
and I can show you it's a cherry-pick.

Speaking of homosexuals - which is the subject -

what is offensive and very much insensitive, and downright hypocritically disgusting is the way Anti-Christians actually make homosexuals feel unloved by their false claim that they (homosexuals) are hated by Christians, which is not true.

Have you noticed, no matter how Christians explain that that's a lie (and they actually support their claims).....anti-Christians will never let go of that powerful tool to exploit homosexuals.

Anyone who'd feel unloved and hated is bound to feel alone, and have a very low self-worth,
and some do commit suicide because of that.

If you analyze it, the anti-Christians actually label and denigrate homosexuals in a "nice" way by making it look like they (anti-Christians) are on their side. Quite deceptive, really.

The real false message of anti-Christians to homosexuals:

you are hated for who, and what you are. Even your God hates you.

Would anyone be insensitive and cruel enough to tell a child of a dope-user, or a criminal convict, or an alcoholic, or an adulterer, or parents who abandon their families.....your dad, or your mom hates you?
