Do Jesus' teachers-- teach Jesus' truths?

You aren't but Christ is part of the God head. So is the holy spirit. it is part of the God head as well.

of course i am talking to a person that doesn't know what covetous means either so there you have that.

That isn't what the scripture in John says ... it says Christ and the father are one, just as we are one .... so obviously he's not talking about the Godhead .... (as if there was such a thing).

Yep we are one in Christ as Christ is one with the father.

our relationships i one with christ.

Christ, the father, the holy spirit have their own relationship that is oneness.

The God head does exist and is biblically and scripturally accurate of this there is no doubt.

1. Yeah sure.

2. Not according to the scripture in John you cited ... and InFact the Whole bible, if you'd like to have a true-debates debate on this, I'm open for it.

It would show People once and for all that you can ACTUALLY defend Your positions from the scriptures (which you can't).

Like I said, Racky, myself and many other Christians have tried to reason with you in the past, to no avail. You don't listen and you don't learn.

Then you are not following along the discussion.

The fact is if Christ was not the Son of God which is exactly who he claimed to be then he is a liar and a farce.
So there are people and religions out there that attempt to lower the standard of the divinity of who Christ said He was.

It is in fact at the core of Christian theology.

Arianism, a Christian heresy first proposed early in the 4th century by the Alexandrian presbyter Arius. It affirmed that Christ is not truly divine but a created being. Arius’ basic premise was the uniqueness of God, who is alone self-existent and immutable; the Son, who is not self-existent, cannot be God.
Arianism (Christian heresy) -- Encyclopedia Britannica

You said...
Jesus never said He was God but He is part of the God head. God the Father, God the Son (Christ), Holy Spirit who Christ said was greater than He.

To which Logicman responded...

Yes, Jesus did claim to be God.

Sounds like the Arian "heresy" to me.

Not one single post---says--Jesus is God.

But then it sounds like you've never really done a serious study on what the Bible says about the divinity of Jesus Christ.

How so? Nowhere in this thread have I given an opinion one way or the other on the subject Jesus' divinity or godhood. I merely noted the similarity between the arguments on this thread and the arguments which resulted in the First Council of Nicea.

The deity of Jesus is seen repeatedly in the first century New Testament. But there will always be those who deny it.

Jesus Himself declared who He is:

56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it,and was glad.
57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

Modern prophets of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as well as modern LDS scripture have also declared that Jehovah in the Old Testament is the pre-mortal Jesus, the first born spirit son of God. He was the God of the Old Testament, under the direction of the Father. The Godhead are three separate beings united as one not physically but unity of purpose. When this simple, common sense truth is understood all the scriptures on the Godhood become consistent and clear.

"To Moses, Jehovah identified himself by the title "I AM THAT I AM"-a variation on the verbal root of YHWH (Ex. 3:14). This title was claimed by Jesus in mortality: "Before Abraham was, I am" (John 8:58; cf. John 4:26). After his resurrection, Jesus told hearers in the Americas, "Behold, I am he that gave the law, and I am he who covenanted with my people Israel; therefore, the law in me is fulfilled, for I have come to fulfil the law" (3 Ne. 15:5; cf. Matt. 5:17)":

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has something no one else has and is why we do not wrest the scriptures:
Surely the Lord GOD does nothing Unless He reveals His secret counsel To His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7

Actually I am that I am is a misquoted Hebrew word--I shall prove to be what I shall prove to be is more accurate. And Jesus did not say he was the I am in that scripture--he answered their question--did he exist before Abraham--yes he did. Your teachers twist what is being said.

it was a reason that this was put down in cannon in the first place.

an excellent article that shows what is correct. what i found interesting is this.

Today there are still remnants of the Gnostic heresy (Christian Science), the Arian heresy (Jehovah’s Witnesses), and the Socinian heresy (Unitarianism) circulating in Christendom. All of these errors have one thing in common—they give Christ every title except the one which entitles Him to all the rest—the title of God and Savior.

The first presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, the prophet and his 1st and 2nd counselor, is symbolic of the Godhead, just as the New Testament church with Peter, James, and John forming the first presidency after Jesus ascended to Heaven was symbolic of the Godhead(while Jesus was walking with them in mortality there was no need for for a first presidency to represent the Godhead as you had Jesus Himself.) In each LDS ward there is a bishop and his first and second counselor, also symbolic of the Godhead. These servants, called by God and with real priesthood authority, guided by the Holy Ghost and revelation, guide God's kingdom on the earth.

That is nothing I ever read in the bible. Godhead--show me that--Gods word teaches---God is the head of Jesus, Jesus is the head of man, man is the head of woman. Paul clearly teaches--the Father is Jesus' God- 2 Corinthians 1:3-- 1 Cor 8:6--
Jesus teaches his Father is his God-John 20:17, rev 3:12--- listen to Jesus.

The LDS also believe that God the Father is Jesus's God and our God. He is the literal Father of all of our spirits. It is God the Father who we pray to. Jesus is the Savior, and the mediator between man and God. That there is a Godhead as expressed in 1 John 5:7 doesn't mean that the Father is not at the head. Jehovah, Jesus Christ
See this page in the original 1992 publication.

The Godhead consists of three separate and distinct beings: the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (D&C 130:22; A of F 1). While some Christians do not equate Jesus Christ and Jehovah in their theologies, biblical passages indicate that relationship, and latter-day scriptures often refer to Jesus Christ, the Son, as Jehovah (e.g., D&C 110:3-4; Moro. 10:34).

The name Jehovah is an anglicized rendering of the tetragrammaton YHWH, a proper noun in biblical Hebrew that identifies God. Following a Jewish tradition that avoided pronouncing God's name, translators of the King James Version rendered almost all occurrences of YHWH as "Lord." Latter-day Saints view many other occurrences of "Lord" as references to Jehovah, both in the New Testament and in LDS scripture.

Since his premortal life, Jesus Christ has functioned as the constant associate of the Father working under his direction. In 1916 the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued a doctrinal statement on the relationship between the Father and the Son: "Jesus the Son has represented and yet represents Elohim His Father in power and authority. This is true of Christ in His preexistent, antemortal, or unembodied state, in the which He was known as Jehovah; also during His embodiment in the flesh; …and since that period in His resurrected state" (MFP 5:31-32).

Throughout scripture, several roles of Jehovah-Jesus Christ are specifically identified.

CREATOR. Jehovah as Creator is attested throughout the Old Testament (e.g., Ps. 24:1-2). Speaking to Moses, God said, "Worlds without number have I created; …and by the Son I created them, which is mine Only Begotten" (Moses 1:33). John and others acknowledged Jesus as the Word, the Creator: "In the beginning was the Word; …all things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made" (John 1:1-3, 14; cf. Eph. 3:9; Col. 1:16). Similarly, the Book of Mormon teaches, "The Lord Omnipotent who reigneth, who was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from heaven among the children of men…. And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of heaven and earth, the Creator of all things from the beginning" (Mosiah 3:5-8; cf. 2 Ne. 9:5; 3 Ne. 9:15).

LAWGIVER. To Moses, Jehovah identified himself by the title "I AM THAT I AM"-a variation on the verbal root of YHWH (Ex. 15:5; cf. Matt. 5:17).

REDEEMER, DELIVERER, AND ADVOCATE. Jehovah delivered the children of Israel from Egypt. Paul taught that this same being would redeem mankind from sin and death (cf. 1 Cor. 10:1-4). This point is made clear in the Book of Mormon: "The God of our fathers, who were led out of Egypt,…yea, the God of Abraham…yieldeth himself…as a man, into the hands of wicked men…to be crucified" (1 Ne. 19:10; cf. 2 Ne. 9:1-26; Mosiah 13:33-35). When the Savior appeared to the Prophet Joseph Smith in the Kirtland Temple on April 3, 1836, "his voice was as the sound of the rushing of great waters, even the voice of Jehovah, saying: I am the first and the last; I am he who liveth, I am he who was slain; I am your advocate with the Father" (D&C 110:3-4).

JUDGE. The Book of Mormon prophet Moroni 2 drew attention to "the great Jehovah, the Eternal Judge" (Moro. 10:34), reaffirming what the Psalmist and others had said (e.g., Ps. 9:7-8; Isa. 33:22). Jesus Christ proclaimed that he was the judge: "For the Father…hath committed all judgment unto the Son" (John 5:22, 27; cf. Acts 10:42).

IN HIS NAME. In the beginning, men began "to call upon the name of the Lord" (Gen. 4:25, 26; cf. Moses 5:8;6:4). In Moses's time Jehovah instructed the priests to "put my name upon the children of Israel" (Num. 6:27; cf. Deut. 28:10). Before the coming of Christ, Book of Mormon people took upon themselves his name (Mosiah 5:8-12; Alma 34:38; see Jesus Christ, Taking the Name of, upon Oneself). In all dispensations, the name of Christ is the only name "whereby salvation can come unto the children of men" (Isa. 43:3, 11; Mosiah 3:17; Acts 4:12; cf. Moses 5:7-9).

Divine names and titles, especially in the Bible, are occasionally ambiguous. The distinction between the Father and the Son is sometimes unclear. For example, the Hebrew term elohim-a title usually applied to the Father by Latter-day Saints-often refers to Jehovah in the Bible (e.g., Isa. 12:2). Furthermore, people prayed to Jehovah as if he were the Father. In some cases, ambiguity may be due to the transmission of the text; in others, it may be explained by divine investiture wherein Christ is given the authority of the Father: "Thus the Father placed His name upon the Son; and Jesus Christ spoke and ministered in and through the Father's name; and so far as power, authority, and Godship are concerned His words and acts were and are those of the Father" (MFP 5:32).

This earth may have been created 4.5 billion years ago but the basic, rudimentary elements that the earth was created with are eternal. When the scriptures state create, it is not creation from nothing, but creation like a shipbuilder would create a ship from existing material.

Modern revelation from the Lord states:
29 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth, was not created or made, neither indeed can be. (D&C 93)

So like the earth, which was created yet eternal, so is Christ and all of us. Better comparison would be our physical bodies. Our earthly parents created our physical bodies from matter that is from the earth. Our physical bodies were thus created but also the elements that make it up are eternal star dust. My guess is likewise our Heavenly Parents created our spiritual bodies from eternal living light matter. Maybe the sparkle in their eyes. In that way everyone, from the first born Christ, to all of us, the sons or daughters that followed, all were created yet are eternal.
