Mary's Perpetual Virginity

she would be lieing. the only time that Christ will come back is to reclaim the church.

how would you prove that? its a matter of faith that a Christ was born at all as well as the whole virgin thing

It would be sad if she was stuck a virgin I was ecstatic when I ended my perpetual virginity

This all sounds like a really bum deal for Mary. Can we get this poor girl laid? How come her boy Joe was giving her the cold shoulder?

It costs you nothing, whether you're a person of faith or not, to be respectful of others' feelings and beliefs. Shame at your age that you delight in deliberately causing offense. :3oops:

I think it's baffling that anyone would take offense at something so obviously a jest, and such a silly one at that.

That said, even jokes carry some kind of message. Mine is that is seems bizarre to think of perpetual virginity as some kind of virtue. Sexuality is a pretty fundamental part of being a living being. The idea that someone is more virtuous for being less human is wrong. Fetishizing virginity is wrong. It's unhealthy to us as a society, and it wreaks havoc on the women who have to suffer under such a twisted double standard. If "respect", to you, is not expressing my opinion on the subject, then you have a deeply twisted notion of what respect means. "Offense" is just a way to tell me that I'm wrong for speaking while ignoring what I'm saying. If you want to defend the message that this story imparts on us, then step up and defend it. Otherwise, consider that maybe, just maybe, its message is a bad one.

now to be fair to Catholics they seem to have no double standards when it comes to promoting virginity
