Should prayers be vocalized?

Did you read the link? If so, did you follow up on the footnotes? If so, what precisely would you like me to expand on? (Not being snarky, just unclear on what's unclear)

Okay...Now I see it.

Have you read Tertullian?

Oh, I'm not arguing that the Jews or Muslims find Jesus as divine, not in the slightest.

You're not the only one to put Mssr. Petey in his place, the Council of Soissons had him burn his book on the Trinity in 1121...

Well I liked Peter Abelard to be honest.

Your link says:

I'm confused how this ties up with my last post (which you've responded to with this link).

The link say a lot more than that I'm afraid, I believe the response I gave was an appropriate one, but if you didn't get past the first stanza I can see how you might be confused.

........................

II. THE COMMUNION OF THE CHURCH OF HEAVEN AND EARTH

954 The three states of the Church. "When the Lord comes in glory, and all his angels with him, death will be no more and all things will be subject to him. 492But at the present time some of his disciples are pilgrims on earth. Others have died and are being purified, while still others are in glory, contemplating 'in full light, God himself triune and one, exactly as he is"'

492 LG 49; cf. Mt 25:31; 1 Cor 15:26-27; Council of Florence (1439) DS 1305.

Just to point out where it is specific, with corresponding footnotes

Yes, I found it, thanks....I edited my post actually.

Hey ya,

I was just wondering, should prayers be vocalized or it is enough just to pray in your mind/heart?

For me, saying long prayers out loud can be tough, so I tend to do that as mortification. However, there is something to be said about submitting even our voices, hence why the Eucharistic Prayer was for centuries said inaudibly in Catholic churches.

after I posted I seen but I figured since I took the time...;)

I wonder why people only pray at mealtime. I understand the Last Supper, but really why only at mealtime when not in church?

I meditate in the spirit most of the time. I seldom pray out loud.
