Where does the 6000 year old earth idea come from?

A big reason I lean more towarn the Gap Theory. It doesn't contradict the genealogies and includes a possible reference to the ice age. Although man is only 6,000 o 14,000 the date of the universe itself is not given under an interpretation that the celestial bodies were made visible (again?) on the surface of the earth possibly after atmospheric conditions began to allow light to pass through, according the the chronology listed and not created for the first time. Or maybe a combination of both Day Age and Gap Theory is the way in happened. I guess we'll find out one day.

Yeah to be honest the age of the earth to an exact point isn't a big sticker for me as long as whatever theory doesn't contradict Genesis.

So let me get this straight. You will grasp for whatever theory allows you to hold your ignorant world view? In other words, you have a circular shaped hole that is reality and you are attempting to smash the story tail of genesis it with a sledgehammer.

You said that you accept whatever theory that doesn't contradict Genesis. In other words, you are attempting to fit reality into something that is incorrect. Science disproves Genesis unless you want to interpret Genesis in a purely allegorical sense.

Evolution is not a theory; it is an indisputable scientific fact. There is no such thing as the "theory of evolution." You might be thinking of natural selection. Natural selection is a theory, and it is about as well established as a round earth and gravity. All evidence ever discovered on the history of this earth supports it.

It always amusing me that creationists don't get this, and lose the argument as soon as they concede any change in populations.

You've already admitted it did, by acknowledging microevolution. Small changes over a long period of time equal really big changes.

You might want to go deeper into the denial of reality and claim that organism and their populations never change. It's what creationism is reduced to.

I did not admit that every claim of micro evolution is true, I said that micro evolution happens. That's not the same thing. I am a descendant of Adam who was created as a Human by God himself.

I.e., small changes over a long period of time equal big changes. Now run the clock backward and see what happens.

You might want to reconsider your foray into fact.
