Ever read the prophecy of St. Malachi? He gave a short list, in Latin, of every Pope to ascend to the Papacy, beginning with Celestine II, in 1143. He described the present Pope as an Olivetian, which he is. The next Pope he describes as Peter the Roman, who would betray the Catholic Church, and join with the Antichrist. Benedict has just stepped down, and the next Pope will take office sometime in March.

If the next Pope is named Peter, then get ready for a wild ride.

So, answer the poll.

Sounds a little crazy to me, but then I've been accused of being crazy myself.;)
I don't look to prophesies, but rather take a *sit back and watch* approach.

Not sure if it was St Malachi, or Nostradumbass, but they're often lumped together... Benedict was supposed to be assassinated, not resign... so accuracy isn't looking so hot...

I think I would rather believe in Nostradamus or the Mayans. I find Prophecies fascinating, but I don't believe in them. I love watching the history channel or the discovery channel when they have programs on about prophecies. For me that is entertainment.

Those prophecies have been widely debunked, you can squint your eyes and see just about any correlation you want with the supposed prophecy connected with the person to which it connects.

Good evening, Pero.

The prophecy of St. Malachi is scary in its accuracy so far!

I have also read Nostradamus, and depending on who is explaining what he said, it can be scary, too!

I like scary movies, too, but that's me..... :)

I read somewhere that the current Pope was supposed to be the anti-Christ by the prophacy but his supporters bumped the list to make it seem like the next one would be the last, not him.

I recently bought a DVD set of 100 sci-fi movies, another set of 100 horror movies, 20 old vampire movies and spaghetti western set for $25.00. All are older movies which included a couple of silent ones. But I have been really enjoying watching them. What I noticed with these old movies, is the lack of all the special effects, where one has to rely on his/her imaginations a lot more. I watched on where the monster was never shown until the last scene of the movie. Talk about suspense and having one on the edge of their seats. With all the special effects of today, you would never see a movie like that one. I always like roger Corman and his B horror flicks, I was watching one this afternoon with Bela Lugosi named the Phantom Creeps. 1938.

Seems like most of the prophecies are vague enough you can find a connection if you try hard enough. The ones from the 1100s to 1590 are fairly specific, but then again there are no references to the prophecies before it was "discovered" in 1590. I think most likely they were never even written before 1590 and the first prophecies are postdiction and the later ones are vague enough to be applied to anything.

I don’t know about the prophesy but the world is about to end…considering the age of the planet and the comparatively miniscule amount of time ‘educated’ man has inhabited it ‘about’ is a pretty vague prediction…thus my choice.

Man will probably shortly destroy himself, but the world, the earth will still be here. Even after man, there will be life on this planet and perhaps that life will be better off with mankind out of the way.

They might think it's the Garden of Eden revisited....they certainly won't have often-conflicting rules and regulations to contend with. :) Mother Nature will be in charge, and animals seem to understand her better than humans do..

Animals know nothing of "mother Earth". They eat, drink, sleep, reproduce, hunt, kill, and fight with each other for survival.

The notion that nature= peace and harmony is easily debunked with a closer look at how nature works.

Humanity is the only being on Earth capable of appreciating that there IS such a thing as the planet, the environment, or appreciating the existence of another species just because of its beauty and behaviors.

Animals lack the intellect to appreciate any of these things. They're animals. They're non-sapient. They don't analyze their environment and seek to understand it and harmonize with it, they just do what they do, mostly by instinct.

That is for sure, with humans it seems it is always rape and pillage.

In lion prides, it is often the case that a challenger kills or drives off the alpha male at some point, in order to take over the pride and mate with his females... in other words, they commit aggressive mayhem and sometimes murder in order to leave the pride's females with no choice but mate with the interloper... sometimes the new alpha male kills the old males' kittens too.

Ever seen a half-dozen toms with a female cat in heat? It isn't rape because it is their nature... but to human eyes it looks like rape.

Many types of animals will overgraze their area and then starve en-mass if not kept in check by violent predation.

Sharks will sometimes kill fish they encounter even when they're not hungry.

Cats often torture their prey before killing it.... yeah, the CATS are "just playing" but the mouse gets impaled on their claws repeatedly anyway, and while the cat may be playing the mouse "dies in earnest".

So much for gentle loving Mother Nature being so much better than humanity.

If you consider us simply evolved animals, then we're the only animal on the planet capable of overcoming our baser natures... at least some of the time.

I can buy some of the time. But I was basically talking about the planet, although you made good points on animal over grazing etc.

I've already sent in my application.

I don't believe in the Catholic Papacy as being a thing of God or that the Bible supports it. What happens within their meetings and appointments doesn't do much to me in my view nor does it have any theological implication.

i wonder if the history channel will take a break from alien ice road pawn shops so that they can devote a month to this story.

answer : probably not. this actually has some tenuous link to history.

Maybe they will, although they'll probably be looking at how the crop circles predicted this.

I love the PhD guests they have on there, like guys who study alien technology or extraterrestrials.

My particular favorite is the guy on Ancient Aliens who has the rooster hair-do.
