If I were religious, I'd be a pagan Reconstructionist.

Not, mind you, a Wiccan 'fluffy bunny', content to follow the quasi-Christian Rede, but a High Reconstructionist keeping in practice with Germanic - genuinely European, genuinely Traditional - values. I'm already pretty close to being one culturally, with a strong taste for the Kaiserreich and Weimar culturally. It's just my silly Reason that keeps me from it.

I could never have any truck with Christianity or Judaism or any other religion of the European colonization. But there's a great deal that's attractive in the heathen value-system. I'd probably incline towards the more mystical strands of Theosophy; I'm too much of an elitist to care much for völkisch literalism.

In order for you to be an elitist you first have to become elite. First step is for you to move out of mommy's basement.

why? If its just a value system your into then you don't need the religion at all, if you think there is truth to the theology thats different though.

It is surprising how much more depth and meaning the values-system holds in the context of practicing a living faith.

I strike something of a balance between mysticism and literalism... I believe the gods are real living beings, of tremendous might and wisdom, but I don't think they're responsible for thunderstorms and earthquakes.

What are the 5 specific things that are "attractive in the heathen value-system" and from which heathen value system are those things derived?

If I were religious I'd be God. Wait a minute.....

Ever read "In the Light of Truth: The Grail Message" by Oskar Bernhardt aka Abd-ru-shin, by any chance? If not, you should try it. It'll probably be your thing exactly.

If I were formally religious, I'd have difficulty choosing between Judaism and Buddhism. Yeah, I know that sounds like a conflict of sorts, but there are bits and pieces of several religions that I really like. That being the case, I just practice my own brand.;)

Personally,I prefer Crom,God of Conan the Barbarian.
Crom (fictional deity) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Thats my kind of deity. One that doesn't constantly stick his nose of into everyone's business.A deity that doesn't demand that one read a particularly overlong boring ass book filled with a bunch of "Thou shalt and shalt nots".
A deity who doesn't give a crap about a person's sexual orientation.
A deity that wants you to defeat your enemies or at least leave as many of their bloody bodies at your feet before you succumb to defeat.:lamo

If Crom is good enough for Conan the Barbarian,he's good enough for me.

'I don't care, I do what I want.'

You people and your labels
I would never join the whole neo-paganism fad just because for the most part it seems ridiculous to me, same goes for most religions/religious type belief systems out there.

Give it a shot.

Not only primitive feminism, but a healthy dollop of mangina-sanctioned validity to boot. You wouldn't warm to the prospect of a spiritual component in your victimhood? Some veneer of divine imprimatur, for what otherwise remains a sterile conclave of joyless mid-lifers, suffering nightmares of high school indifference?

Of course, you'd refrain from telling your friends. We don't want another backlash. Gosh, no.
