Both figures (God and Satan) were created in the imagination of human beings.... Humans have been known to display the qualities of both - good and evil. It is a mistake to separate them completely, because like the concept of yin and yang, they are both inextricably bound to one another....

To hold the illusion of complete separation creates a sterile concept of heaven and evils beyond comprehension. When people try to ally themselves with the unwaivering good (self-righteousness) their psychological shadow inevitably appears and takes a hold over them ....

This is why religion is marred with centuries of violence and torture by people claiming to be on the side of God.
