What has creationism given us?

I stopped reading when it got to Lyell and Darwin looking at fossil records. Which fossils. do you realize that Darwin did most of his reserch between the 1830's and 40's? The study of paleiobiology wasn't even in existence nor was 'fossil recording" more than a gentlemans hobby.

Darwin based most if not all of his findings on what he saw in South America and the Gallapagos(sp?). As well as some of his work on birds back in England. Russell Wallace worked on plants and did some work with animals. I am not familar with this Lyell person

But, Darwin did in fact collect fossils. That' s what created his disturbed thoughts about his theory. He hoped that as time went on intermediates would be found to support his ideas.

"Sir Charles Lyell, 1st Baronet, Kt FRS (14 November 1797 – 22 February 1875) was a British lawyer and the foremost geologist of his day. He is best known as the author of Principles of Geology, which popularised James Hutton's concepts of uniformitarianism – the idea that the earth was shaped by the same processes still in operation today. Lyell was a close and influential friend of Charles Darwin."

God did not create "evolution" It created the universe and set it in motion. the principles we call natural law or physical law just came along as part of it.
How do you know this? Do you know everything about the universe, to say that there is no god, that could not create the universe and all the objects and natural laws therein?

I read your article about Darwin and it changes nothing. He collected "fossils" as a naturalist of the time. He did not collect most of them to help with his concepts of evolution. You need to read "On the origin" sometime or his book about his trip on the Beagle.

Your last statement about Darwin is not supported or supportable since his concepts and collections could not have possibily provided him with this information.

Evolution is just a theory to explain the origin of species without a deity, and it has added no practical value to your life or mine.

Except things like I already pointed out, as well as Somerville. And evolution says nothing on whether a deity exits or not. Surely you're aware the the majority of the world's Christians believe in theistic evolution? Creationism is actually a more modern aberration of something Christians in the past didn't believe, nor do the majority today. With that being said, evolution has given us knowledge, that has gone a long way in both explaining the nature of how we got different species, and how that can apply in a practical way.

According to Peter Grimm, germ theory is "just a theory" so God or devils must cause disease.

How does one respond to the invincible ignorance of creationists and their total lack of understanding about science?

Pat Robertson dispensed with creationism in a video today.............

Just keep talking, particularly to young people. At the time of a confrontation with a creationist, you may leave thinking, "Crap, another idiot for Jeebus!" but many times that meeting will stick in the brain of the creationist and there are multiple cases of such True Believers acknowledging, sometimes years later, that was the event which brought them to science.

I've posed the germ theory on religious forums to creationists, with no answer. The Bible says that disease is caused by sin and the wrath of god, so why do they not fight against it? I haven't gotten an answer yet, but I'm still hoping.
