Spitting on anyone should be considered an assault.. In NYC people get citations for spitting on the sidewalk. No excuse for this.

It's not really, but it apparently has been perceived that way. The OP was about some rather distasteful practices by some Jewish people in Israel, it's not a condemnation of the entire religion. But the usual crowd doesn't want it discussed in the least because it involves Israel and some of those folk take criticism of Israel rather personally.

I'm Israeli and i'm fine with criticism of Jews or Israel, nor do I take this thread personally, particularly because my criticisms of Haredi Jews pale towards any criticisms even 24107 might have towards them.
Still, it doesn't look like he's directing his outrage at this particular minority group...

Still it seems like you are not reading or understanding anything I wrote. My criticism isn't aimed at the OP, but rather those who don't want the OP in religion and would rather move it to a forum where critique of Israel is extremely limited even though the OP is less about Israel in general and more the actions of a handful of theists.

I recall one day tallying up the postings there, and on the first two pages, all but five were from virulent haters of Israel.

For antisemites like Ikari, 24107 and others, that is evidently not enough.

Yes I have. It's a bastion of anti-intellectualism wherein many times critique against Israel is immediately qualified as anti-Semitic. A few of the people here are very quick on the anti-Semite card.

The problem is that many of us know the OP. You want a like from him? Say something negative about Jewish people. Rarely does he even have the guts to comment on his own OPs.

Perchance, but some of the condemnation isn't limited to the OP and some of the overstatements are not limited to the OP either. Gardner is an excellent example of the anti-intellectual reactionary commentary put forth by some unable to abide by criticisms of Israel (even though the OP wasn't a condemnation of Israel as a whole, but rather a handful of theists from the area).

That is exactly what this comes down to. A handful of people, not the whole. The condemnation is not on the whole of Judaism nor Israel, but rather the aggressive and intolerant actions of a few. Ergo, and call of anti-semitism or anything of the like is obviously propaganda and intellectually dishonest argument as we are not discussing the whole; but rather the actions of a few.

The thing is, none of us post in a vacuum. If I scoured the Internet and posted any conspiracy theories or hack pieces involving only Obama and/or Democrats, at some point it'll become clear that my motivation is not to post the truth, but, rather, just to bash Dems.
 
I don't know that much about Islam, to be honest, so I couldn't say.

Christianity includes the all the books of moses and the prophets in our holy bible and we consider them the word of god. The entirety of Judaism exists unchanged within Christianity.
