Our government ENDORSES Islam?!

The usage of the word 'but' in your examples implies that 'great' is a positive?
No it doesn't. It's just an adjective describing size or magnitude. You might have a point if she'd made a comparison of Islam being a 'great' as opposed to Shinto, Judaism or Jainism as being 'minor' religions. I don't think she was making any value judgement, just using diplomatically safe words.

There is hardly a day that passes that a non-Muslim is not killed by a Muslim for no other reason than the victim is not a Muslim. This is hate crime committed by a hateful bigot supported by a hate filled community which is a part of a hate filled religion.

A Muslim killing a non-Muslim means they're all demented radicals?

You can hold your own belief in this, but the frequency of the occurrence is such it cannot be occurring without the silent consent and the active support of the whole community. If those who supported peace and opposed hateful violence were in the majority, the activity would have have ended. It has not.

You expect every Muslim to come out and condemn the attacks because another Muslim committed a terrorist act? Did all Christians come out when Anders Breivik killed 77 people and injured 319 others in the name of Christianity?

You proclaim the vague belief that this is a loving religion and it simply is not.

I never said that.

Not if you are not a Muslim. The Motto of the Muslim Brotherhood, the group elected by the majority of the Egyptian population is below. What you dream is their goal for the world and what their dream is are two very different things.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali: 'The Quran Is Our Law; Jihad Is Our Way' - WSJ.com

'Allah is our objective; the Prophet is our leader; the Quran is our law; Jihad is our way; dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope." So goes the motto of the Muslim Brotherhood.

One group of people's goals does not equal everyone's. Not all Muslim's are part of the Brotherhood, in fact, a small minority are.

It's just an adjective describing size or magnitude.

Not necessarily. If I said I had a great dinner last night, that does not indicate quantity of food, but quality. If I said I saw a great movie yesterday, that means I found it highly entertaining rather than it being long. The word "great" does not just describe size or magnitude as it also describes quality, since it acts as a superlative ambiguous enough to modify any number of concepts. Because of such ambiguity, the writers of her speech should have given consideration to such word use and written it in such a way as to more accurately express that she was referring to number of adherents rather than any intrinsic quality of the religion, itself.

Not all Nazis worked in the death camps, but 6 million Jews still suffered and died.

Not all Americans worked in the torture prisons of Baghdad, but many prisoner were tortured and died.

See how that worked?

Now try put some effort into your posts for a change.

And yet the populations across the Muslim world are setting buildings on fire and killing innocents.

You are defending the indefensible.

How many Muslims have set buildings on fire and killed innocents in the United States this year?

Bush's party lost the election in 2008. I thought you might have heard about this. It's been on all the news shows.

The Muslims just don't seem to detest the murder of non-Muslims. In truth, they don't detest the murder of Muslims if other Muslims are doing it.

I don't know how this will post. There is a map in the artcle that shows where the violence has erupted and it includes about 17 cities from Kuala Lumpur to London.

At this time, there are no reports of Methodists rising up to burn embassies or kill innocents.

The majority of those protests were peaceful, innocents were not killed and buildings were not set on fire in the majority of those countries.

Why am I not surprised you respond with completely irrelevant facts?

The Muslims just don't seem to detest the murder of non-Muslims. In truth, they don't detest the murder of Muslims if other Muslims are doing it.

I guess the people mourning the slayed Libyan Ambassador aren't Muslims. Nor are the Muslims who came out against the 9/11 attacks. And the Muslims who fought against Al Quadea in Iraq because of the mass murder of other Muslims.

You do no favors to yourself with blanket statements.

Why are the folks that you assume exist so silent and so impotent to stop this minority? It is only with the silent consent of the many that the few can dominate.

How do you explain the victory of the Muslim Brotherhood in the recent Egyptian election?

Fear.

........

How many typical Middle East Muslims (poor, unemployed and uneducated) did you met at the United Nations?

I've never been to the UN. I said that the place where I work looks like the UN, because of the wide variety of represented culturies and national identities in my workplace.

Hillary Clinton stated on behalf of the United States that "Islam is one of the great religions" and of the USA's admiration and respect for it.

What the hell is that?!

Does she and the US government also declare that Scientology and Pentacostal are "great religions?" Has she ratified that atheism is one of the "Great ideologies" according to the United States government?

Why doesn't she just shout "Praise Allah! There is only one God and Mohammed is his prophet" and put on a burka in submissiveness to the Mulahs on behalf of our government?

Her statement is totally out of line. Do you think Islam is "one of the great religions?" I am fairly confident that many Americans don't believe there is such a thing as a "great religion" and among those who think there is one, it isn't Islam.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are three great Abrahamic religions.

Pentecostals are Christians.

Why do you have a problem?

Hillary Clinton stated on behalf of the United States that "Islam is one of the great religions" and ...

I'm sorry for having to be sarcastic on this one, but I don't consider "Hillary Clinton" to be "our government." If she thinks she can make idiotic statements on behalf of the whole country on her own accord then she doesn't know what she's doing, and I refuse to acknowledge it for what it is intended to be.

What would be your impression of this if the murders were committed by white supremacists from small towns in the deep south and the murdered were blacks? This is an exact parallel. Small and close communities, violent and hateful actions by people known by all doing acts that are known by all and not the first hint that there is any move to stop it.

If the overwhelming majority of Muslims opposed this and the Muslim leadership also opposed it, this minority would be identified and stopped. Instead, they are identified and honored.

Is there a justification of murder in your words?

Do you have a link that supports you assertion?

LEBANON - Security forces opened fire in the northeastern Lebanese city of Tripoli, killing one person after a crowd angry over the film set fire to a KFC and a Hardee's restaurant. About 25 people were wounded in the melee, including 18 policemen who were hit with stones and glass.
SUDAN - Several hundred protesters stormed the German Embassy in the capital, Khartoum, burning a car parked behind its gates and trash cans. Police fired tear gas, pushing the protesters outside the embassy's gates. There appeared to be no injuries to embassy staff and no apparent damage to the building. Most protesters dispersed, but a group marched to protest at the nearby British Embassy.
YEMEN - Security forces shot live rounds in the air and fired tear gas at a crowd of around 2,000 protesters trying to march to the U.S. Embassy in the capital, Sanaa. Police kept the crowd about a block away from the embassy. Friday's demonstration came a day after hundreds stormed the embassy compound and burned the American flag.
EGYPT - Riot police clashed with hundreds of protesters blocks away from the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, as the president broadcast an appeal to Muslims to protect embassies and tried to patch up strained relations with Washington. After weekly prayers, a crowd in Cairo's Tahrir Square tore up an American flag, and waved a black, Islamist flag. When protesters tried to move toward the embassy, ranks of police confronted them, firing tear gas.
IRAN - Thousands shouted 'Death to America' and 'Death to Israel' in Tehran in a demonstration after Friday prayers. Some burned the American and Israeli flags. State TV says similar protests were held in other Iranian cities.
BAHRAIN - More than 2,000 protesters chanted against the film and burned American and Israeli flags after Friday prayers in a Shiite mosque in Diraz, outside the capital, Manama. Security forces were absent, even though the area is a hotbed of opposition in Bahrain's 19-month Shiite-led uprising against the Sunni ruling system. Separately, Bahrain's Interior Ministry ordered media regulators to attempt to block access to the film clip in the Gulf kingdom.
IRAQ - Hundreds demonstrated in Baghdad's northern Sunni neighborhood of Azamaiyah, some shouting: 'No, no America! No, no to Israel,' and, 'We are ready to sacrifice ourselves for our Prophet.' Dozens also marched in Baghdad's Sadr City, a poor Shiite area in the capital's northeast. In the southern city of Basra, about 1,000 took to the streets and burned the American and Israeli flags. One banner said: 'Freedom doesn't mean offending two billion Muslims.'
TUNISIA - A crowd of several thousand demonstrators protested outside the US embassy in Tunis. Police respond to stone-throwing with tear gas. An AP reporter on the scene witnessed several people overcome by intense clouds of gas. An army helicopter flew overhead while armored vehicles protected the embassy.
ISRAEL - The Israeli police say about 400 people marched toward the U.S. consulate in east Jerusalem in protest over the prophet film. Demonstrators threw bottles and stones at police, who responded by firing stun grenades. Four protesters were arrested and the crowd was prevented from reaching the U.S. consulate.
WEST BANK - In the city of Nablus, about 200 people demonstrated against the film as Muslim clerics throughout the territory preached against it in Friday sermons.
SYRIA - About 200 protesters waved the Syrian flag and shouted anti-American slogans outside the long-closed U.S. Embassy in Damascus. The crowd held banners saying: 'He who curses the Prophet doesn't seek democracy' and 'a nation whose Prophet is Mohammad, would never kneel down.' The U.S. embassy has been closed since February because of the country's bloody conflict that has killed about 23,000 people.
AFGHANISTAN - About 1,500 protested in the eastern city of Jalalabad, shouting 'Death to America' and urged President Hamid Karzai to cut relations with the U.S.
PAKISTAN - Hundreds of hardline Muslims held peaceful protests against the film throughout Pakistan, shouting slogans and carrying banners criticizing the U.S. and those involved in the film. Police in Islamabad set up barricades and razor wire to prevent protesters from getting to the diplomatic enclave, where the U.S. Embassy and many other foreign missions are located. Protests were also held in Karachi, Peshawar and Lahore, where protesters shouted 'Down with America' and some burned the U.S. flag. About 200 policemen and barbed wire ringed the U.S. Consulate in Lahore.
GREAT BRITAIN - In London, around 250 protesters marched noisily but peacefully through Britain's capital to the U.S. embassy. The group, which called itself the 'Defenders of The Prophet,' held placards denouncing the U.S. and perceived Western imperialism.
TURKEY - Hundreds of people gathered in Istanbul's Beyazit Square to protest the prophet film. The protest was organized by Turkey's main Islamist political party, Saadet.
MALAYSIA - About 20 protesters held a peaceful demonstration outside the U.S. Embassy in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur. They briefly shouted 'Allahu akbar!' or God is great, and handed reporters a letter addressed to the American ambassador expressing anger over the movie and calling for greater respect for religions.

Are you claiming that the Obama election had nothing to do with the distaste Americans felt for the torture that you cite?

Why is there no apparent distaste among muslims for the violence that routinely occurs. Can you please list the links of the Middle Eastern Muslim leaders that have urged the cessation of the missile and bomb attacks on Israel?

Fear.

........

Yes. Just like our government.

One might suppose that if the peaceful were in the majority, the overwhelming majority, the very few violent radicals would be identified and punished rather than identified and honored.

The ones marked in bold print are peaceful, there was no violence on the end of the protestor. Please, read your own link next time.

You apparently interpret burning flags and throwing stones as peaceful. Also, one of the "peaceful demonstrations you cite was performed in Syria where 23,000 people have been killed by the government in recent months. You and they are seemingly unaware of what peaceful means. If I entered your home and burned your favorite chair but didn't kill you or rape your daughter, would you also say that was a peaceful interaction?

Would you extend the same lenient interpretations to other bigoted hate mongers?
