If somebody said 'Christianity is disgusting', would you brush it off as a different opinion and not pay any mind or would you call it bigotry?

"Christians are disgusting" = bigotry.

Well unless you think Christianity is disgusting, then that is most definitely a different opinion, period. As to whether it is bigotry, that's much more subjective.

Bigotry is defined as intolerance towards those who hold different opinions from oneself (Oxford American Dictionary). I would like to note that bigotry is intolerance towards people who hold different opinions, not intolerance for a particular set of opinions/beliefs. So this wouldn't be actual bigotry unless someone said, "Christians are disgusting." If you can hate the sin and love the sinner, you can hate the religion and love the religion, no?

I personally adore Christianity and its true followers.

I think using the word "disgusting" would indicate bigotry in the widest sense. Individual Christians can be disgusting even whole sects can be disgusting but the whole of the religion is no more disgusting than any other religion.

I think it is bigotry. Just like I think blanket labeling of any ideology as a whole as "disgusting", " superior", "Evil" etc is bigotry.

Technically, my labeling of Bigotry as bigotry is an example of bigotry.

Now the question becomes "Is bigotry wrong in all cases"?
