What is the soul and do you believe in it? And OOB experiences?

I have a close and dear friend who was brought to the hospital last week. She was diagnosed with end-stage CHF and aspiration pneumonia. I was told she would die within 24 hours. But she is still here with us. The medical people do not know if she is in a coma or unconscious. She is on palliative care with only a morphin drip to ease the pain. But the morphin itself can end up killing her. To me a DNR is a form of slow death for some.

The medical people tell me to hold her hands, rub her, talk to her, and put scented oils around her. Supposedly hearing is the last of the senses to shut down.

Death is rather a fated process. One may perceive precisely that he's going to die soon. I think that this is because the spirit inside knows better at the moment of one's death. The spirit will find a way to go out once it knows that the body is going to die. Since then the soul will take over. The soul is more like a replica of you. It's your true identity which won't fade away after the death of your body.

NDE on the other hand is not death itself. It's more like a temporary death that the spirit knows in advance that it's not a true death that it won't come out. The spirit is more or less like of lock between your body and your soul. Your soul is fully bound with your body till it's the moment the spirit decides to go out. The coming out of the spirit thus signifies your final moment and there's no returning to live unless a resurrection is performed (by God). In the case that one is resurrected from death, he will in the end knows who resurrected him (like I did).

I'm highly skeptical on the notion of a soul. However, I attempt to leave my mind open.

Souls are created by the human brain, proven over and over and over.
