FBI Arrests 100 Mafia Suspects

A federal judge in Brooklyn sentenced John "Sonny" Franzese, 93, to eight years in prison last Friday for extorting Manhattan strip clubs and a pizzeria on Long Island.

Extorting pizzerias isn't really a sign of a thriving mob racket, so maybe they are reaching the end.

I don't know what to say. I honestly thought the mafia wasn't very powerful today...

LMAO!!! They are going after old geezers with only street smarts, and at that they fail!

The "mafia" is not that powerful anymore. But there are many crime syndicates sprouting up. Where its members are all university educated. They are the big ones. But the FBI sucks at investigating those groups because its hard to prove anything against them. So really this bust is a big joke.

US federal agents have arrested more than 100 suspected mobsters in a crackdown on New York's five mafia crime families.
Those families were ruined a long time ago. The feds can only prosecute them because those families never learn. They are not big at all. Silly really.

Great so the guy gets a free nursing home

The hardest gangs to infiltrate are organized crime groups that have strong homegenity. For example, its hard to infiltrate rastafarian drug posses because real rastas are not police officers. same with groups of entirely foreign born gangsters such as some of the triads, MS-13 or the Russian (KGB) mob. the mafia has become diluted and with it-easier to infiltrate.

My point exactly. You just said it easier for the masses to understand.
