He's right.
In America it was "We the People..."
In EU land it's "We the State..."
I love this guy.
Can't wait for him to meet Obama.
Czech president compares EU to Soviet Union
True story..
EUobserver
Its interesting how that moron says the following things. All following quotes are of him.
Increasing the European Parliament's powers won't solve EU's democratic deficit, since the bloc's legislature does not represent any nation and allows for no political alternatives opposed to EU integration
Wow, how many false views is it possible to have in one sentence, showing what a moron this guy really is.
1. The EU is overloaded with democracy.. Thats the problem. First of all local and national level democracy, on top of that EU democracy(parliament), and then on top of that democracy between the nations and their voting.
2. The European council represents the nations, and the parliaments of the nations. Both those have to approve any legislations, meaning that ALL legislation is approved by the nations, and if not all nations agree, then there is no new legislation. Every nation has a veto, but if the rest of the nations want to progress anyways they have to give that nation an opt out.
3. There are parties IN the European parliament who is anti-EU, who oppose the EU and further integration. :doh
Increasing the European Parliament's powers won't solve EU's democratic deficit,
Czech President Vaclav Klaus has questioned the authority of the European Parliament
So he questions their authority but do not want them to have more powers?
"Are you really convinced that every time you take a vote, you are deciding something that must be decided here in this hall and not closer to the citizens, that are inside the individual European states?" Mr Klaus asked.
What the hell is he talking about, the division of power between the nations in the EU and the EU itself is quite clear.
He warned that the European Parliament currently lacked any "political alternative" opposed to European integration, something that resembled the one-party system of the Soviet Union.
What a moron..
Political groups of the European Parliament - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There are political PARTIES in the European parliament with all types of different a varying opinions; Unfortunately for the anti-EU side, the anti-EU parties account for a tiny fraction of those..
(UEN) Alliance for Europe of the Nations (AEN)
+ 6 unaffiliated national parties
44 MPs of a total of 785..
European Green Party (EGP)
European Free Alliance (EFA)
+ 2 unaffiliated national parties
42 MPs... Many of whom want national independence and break loose from the EU.
Alliance of Independent Democrats in Europe (AIDE)
EUDemocrats (EUD)
+ 2 unaffiliated national parties
(better known as anti-EU, UKIP)
24 MPs.
That Czech mother****er simply knows nothing about the EU parliament. The rest of the article is just full of his false staments, misunderstood and ignorant views on the European parliament, and just anti-EU stuff based on his own lack of understanding what he is talking about.. It would take too long to go through all the stupid **** he was saying actually, even though that was my original intention. The stuff I did put however was by far the most relevant.
