A veteran Washington D.C. investigative journalist says the Department of Homeland Security confiscated a stack of her confidential files during a raid of her home in August — leading her to fear that a number of her sources inside the federal government have now been exposed.
Hmmm... when the IRS is used as a tool against Obama's enemies... and when the HHS admits to working for less than half the country... and this exposes sources... those potentially hostile to our Dear Leader... The Incompetent One... hmmmm

The journalist heard one masked government robber say... Ant... jew bee shure to maik a Shaddup... Vee haf vays to maik you schpeek... jew no?... before departing the scene and giving an Obama salute.

The Obama administration promised to have openness, and transparency. The only thing transparent is the fact we have more muddy water here than under any other administration in our history.

would you please explain two things:
1. what exactly was Obama's involvement in this matter; and
2. what is less transparent than i has been in the past

It would be interesting to be alive in 50 to 75-years to see how they treat this fraud and incompetent.

Welcome to DP... you'll enjoy it here if you find Libs who have lost their minds entertaining. I certainly do... beats watching TV. It's great laughs.

See what I mean anthebone... and then so many Libs here hide behind other leans.

They have little humor (though Benghazi and the IRS aren't laughing matters), and the most transparent administration, one that said they'd have their Obamakare debate/negotiations on CSPAN... and then it just so happens we had to pass it to find what's inside... Merry Christmas Suckers!

Bubba... when are we going to learn about Benghazi from this most transparent administration? Why did they tell the website creators... kill the price comparisons?

There is no trust Bubba... no trust. They lie, and lie, and lie... Hey... what's new? They're Socialists.

Really? In all of history? Do you know anything about history, or do you think it started in 1980?

There's a whole list of corrupt administrations. Grant and Harding come to mind as being worse.

i'm not laughing with you

Her story is laughable. She and her husband possessed guns with impunity knowing he wasn't allowed them, got cops called on them for shooting the guns, discusses the guns that are not supposed to be in her husband's possession or control on her FB, gets her home raided for her guns, and then tries to bootstrap her illegal behavior onto a legitimate political issue to play the victim. She then doesn't notice for a month that the files were listed on the inventory of items seized, and is so worried for her sources that she doesn't contact a single one of them but tells her story in the press with the hope the sources will see it. This has got to be the worst self-serving damage control for her own reputation story I have EVER seen.

but this may provide a basis for a lot of folks - even those who were not actually sources - to assert whistleblowing retaliation to cover their own instances of wrong doing. they can insist to the office of special counsel that their willingness to come forward as her 'source' has now resulted in the retaliatory disciplinary actions they face
it can provide cover to those in need of (but not deserving of) it

Do whistleblower statutes now protect going to the media? I thought the federal statute only applied to coming forward to appropriate authorities.

1. The Department of Homeland Security is part of his administration, under his direct control and reports to him.
2. I don't agree that it is less transparent, considering there have been some laws established in the past decades that force some transparency. However, it is no more transparent than preceding admins and considering it was a major campaign promise, well, you get the idea. To add insult to injury he's still making the claim that he kept that campaign promise. Liar, liar.

It's not a derail, it's illustrating the administration has lost all credibility and is capable of just about anything. I knew that... they're Socialists after all... but not everyone is up to speed like we are on their nefarious ways.

I wonder... how many reporters have they strong armed and screamed down in the last 10-days?

She's lucky they didn't do her the way they did Michael Hastings or Gary Webb....
