The Jewish National Fund is paying former President Bill Clinton half a million dollars to make a 45-minute speech in honor of Israeli President Shimon Peres’ 90th birthday, according to a new report.
The event, which will be held June 17 in Rehovot, Israel, at the Peres Academic Center previously asked guests to pay just more than $800 to attend, to cover Clinton’s fee. That requirement has since been canceled after Peres said he wouldn’t attend if it became a fundraiser, according to the Times of Israel.

Holy ****!
 500K! Dead god thats a lot of money. Hell i would go to Israel to speak for free just so i can Israel, but then again i dont think they would want a "pro-Palestine" college kid to speak. But looks like ol Billy is gonna get a nice tax write off.

Damn, people will throw away their money for just about anything nowadays.....I would have told them to go with Dennis Rodman. At least they would have some entertainment.

I would hate being President. But being an ex-President seems like a pretty sweet gig.

That's why the term is "rich and famous". Fame breeds wealth. Our lesser politicians can't get $500K but they do very, very well for themselves long after they have plundered the taxpayer, enriched their friends and cemented their lobbying connections.

Clinton is the best known man in the world. The last colorful President.

Hillary just had a speech for 200-300k recently as well. So between the two.....they both made close to a million dollars for less than an hour of work. Don't get much better than that.

If that's what they draw in, more power to them.

he's an ex president of the US and is still extremely active politically. What would you expect him to make?
