North Korea says it plans to restart shuttered nuclear reactor - CNN.com

After weeks of hurling threats at the United States and its allies, North Korea announced Tuesday it will restart a nuclear reactor it had shut more than five years ago.

The declaration demonstrates Kim Jong Un's commitment to the country's nuclear weapons program that the international community has tried without success to persuade it to abandon.

The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has expressed concern and pleads with parties to calm down. "Nuclear threats are not a game."

China has also expressed concern over the Nork rhetoric.

The US military has responded by ramping up troops, ships and planes in the region. Isn't it about time for a proposal for multilateral talks or something? Are the Norks rejecting such overtures?

Since Kim Jong Un took power in December hot rhetoric against the US has been coming out of N. Korea. In January Un announced that the US would be targetted with missiles. In Feb. the Norks announced a new nuclear test, and the UN responded with additional sanctions in Resolution 2094. As a result Kim Jong Un has been hopping mad, and the rhetoric we are getting now flows out of that situation.

All this gives Kim Jong Un the appearance of an unstable hot-head.

The only thing I can think is that we've done the multilateral talks time and time again. Usually with Kim Jong Il, it was about getting attention. Like father, like son.

Maybe it's time to finally ignore them instead of giving them what they want every time they pull this ****.

It'd be funny if the White House started pretending they had no idea who he is every time asked about Kim Jong Un

dude is really pissed that he can't import Ferraris anymore, apparently.

i'm so tired of assholes like him pooping in the pool and ruining it for everyone. China needs to tie up its misbehaving dog.
