Is America obsessed with pop culture--music, movies, fashion, celebrities, and the like?
I think some Americans may be obsessed with some of these things, but I don't see it as an American 'thing'. :shrug:
Then the tv is doing its job.
lol... I have not a lot of free time to watch TV. Between working 60-70 hours a week and taking care of a household, my free time is spent online. Either way, I could care less about all things 'pop culture'. :shrug:
Ok but how many times in a day do you think your brain is bombarded with advertisements? How many things in everyday life do you use the name brand name rather than the general products name? Think of it like this, the reason a lot of these Western Europe, middle eastern, and Latin countries have revolts and huge governmental changes is their brains aren't constantly being destroyed by corporate branding and made to think crap like lost and American idol are important. How many people at your work a year ago could tell you what snooki was up to? What about name at least 3 GOP candidates? Better yet tell you our vps name? The more sedated our minds, the more power government, corporations, and media have over us.
