Good was charged with interfering with a police stop — the arresting officer contended she was endangering police — but the District Attorney’s Office decided the charge should be dismissed.

Doorley, who was then first assistant district attorney, appeared in court to request dismissal of the charge. Prosecutors determined that, under the statute, Good had not committed a crime.
A number of prosecutors scrutinized past cases involving the same criminal statute and determined the criminal charge was “not sustainable,” Doorley said.

I remember this original case. It was so patently obvious what the police were doing when they showed up with rulers. As I remember it they tried to explain it away saying it was common practice for them and was prompted by a neighbor's complaint.

This is an inevitable decision to charges like this. The police union may be upset but they are going to have to simply learn to deal with it. Police can not argue that they are allowed to video their actions but citizens can not.

that won't stop them, or their unions. this is an attempt not to stop this particular case, but to intimidate DA's in the future.

here's hoping that the cops involved at least have the decency to now be embarrassed.

Yea right, they can always pull either the "law and order" card or the "weak/tough on crime" card
