Six dead, at least 20 wounded in Memorial Day shootings

Clearly a tragedy of major proportions and and it's not the guns it's the people and their lack mental capacity.

Sorry if that offends someone but most of this didn't in the more affluent parts of the City.

Nothing in your source notes the proportion of gun use in the crimes noted; whatever point you were trying to make isn't supported by the information you presented.

So, because you can produce no evidence that the crime rate in the city of Chicago has been decreased in any substantial amount due to the measures of gun control and restrictions of constitutional rights imposed on its citizens, you deflect by bringing up states that are unrelated to the issue at hand. Meanwhile, the city of Chicago is well above both the average crime rate for the state of IL and even the nation as a whole. Just saying.

In the state of IL, you must apply for an ID card to even be able to own a firearm. Carry of handguns, either open or concealed, is prohibited throughout the state.

Maybe if the shootees were allowed to carry they could have at least returned the fire or better yet, saw the shooter and shoot him before he or she was shot. That is how the game issupposed to be played. Recall the old saying, "If we outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns"? How do our great freedoms we are told we enjoy protect us from gunnersif we are not allowed to be gunners as well. Maybe, since we are allowed to carry cell phones we could just dial 911 while the gunner is emptying his clip in to our heads.
