Determining who is beyond redemption is a whole 'nother thing.

    But some are.

And it can cost upwards of $40k a year to house the bad boys.
And, I believe, about $2 million for the entire proces to execute them. It's not a money thing really, is it?

I am a LIBERAL and I am a CHRISTIAN therefor I cannot agree with capital punishment. Would our Lord Jesus kill someone for punishment or would he forgive the person?

I disagree with the state being given the power to execute it's citizenry for any reason.

If the DP were adjusted so that the victim's families were in charge of the execution, and given the power to perform the execution themselves in an act of vengeance or allow the offender to serve a life sentence if they decide not to take vengeance, I would support it.

Poll is barely up and already someone is screwing with the poll results. Why am I not surprised?

Yes I support the DP. Yes some innocents get caught up in it. I'm aware of this. Still support it.

It's 8 Yes, 12 No, as currently stands. Someone seems to be multiple voting in the No camp.

    Re: The Latest Lynchings Yes/No

There are some crimes that demand the death penalty, and there are others many might think are the right crime for it but I think it's too got for the criminal.

I believe in the old way where the Judge would tell the convicted person they would be taken from the Court to a place of execution where they will be hanged by the neck until dead.

Needle in the arm, isn't scary worth a damn, and endless appeals is stupid, and make the death penalty no deterrent at all. Make it hurt and frightening.

I know that there have been a lot of people who have be wrongly convicted and some most likely put to death who were not guilty, and I lay that on the Judge not making it clear to the Jury what they are to do and what to consider, and bad Police

No, I do not support the death penalty. I support Columbian style prisons though.

When Jesus takes over the day-to-day affairs of our state govt, I'll back him. Until then, we have to do the best with what we have.
    I may be wrong.

    Re: The Latest Lynchings Yes/No

No on the death penalty. Why?

A painless death is not a severe enough punishment for having perpetrated a brutal murder. A lifetime in a supermax is far worse.
It costs more to execute a criminal than it does to keep them in jail.

So far, over 200 convicted felons have been exonerated by the Innocence Project.

Therefore, the death penalty should be abolished.
