Wow. Really? Because all I have connected in my brain to Beck is Mellie.

As for me, I'm in my second week of training for my new job. My new grandbaby is due in November, and I live for my weekend road trips. And this is a middle-aged single woman having a pretty slow life. So unless the liberal you're talking about is a quadriplegic whose browser only carries DP, I think you've overstated the case.

    Again.

Come on, admit it. You miss Beck.

I don't....people have enough things to make them worry.

I miss my grandbabies, that's what I miss. I don't see near enough of them, and they grow up so fast.

I'm told I have lost enough brain cells already through, you know, toking. I don't think I can afford to lose anymore by watching Fox.

The first time I saw a Glen Beck episode was through a clip posted on this forum. And yes, I felt a bit more stupid for having watched it.

I used to listen to O'Reilly on his radio show. I agreed with him about as much as I disagreed with him.

    No, we come to DP.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
