IIrc, it's already such that if you have a reasonable fear that your life is in danger then you can commit homicide to save yourself.
I may be wrong.
I blame this poll for making me want mashed potatoes now.

I voted other, since to me it depends on the circumstances. But under some circumstances, then yes, I believe that the use of deadly force is justified to prevent or stop an assault or rape.
If you build a man a fire, he'll be warm for a day.
If you set a man on fire, he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
No one has the right to force him or herself on you. As such, you have every right to defend yourself especially against a rapist or someone who is attempting to sexually assaults you. Now, if in the process of defending yourself your assailant happens to fall and bump his/her head and dies...
Oh, well... It's call "self-defense".
I didn't see this thread, and started a new one with a bit of a dissertation on the use of deadly force in self-defense, both in general and against rape. If I'd known this thread was here, I would have posted it here.... well here's a link to it.

Rape certainly justifies deadly force. As for assault...it depends on what kind of assault, how severe it is, and what the circumstances are.
Are you coming to bed?
