It's no matter of belief.

We, the public, DID use cocaine a hell of a lot more when it was legal. Hell cocaine gave birth to soda. Cocaine in CocaCola, and Pepsin in Pepsi, also.

Regular recreational use of cocaine messed us up bad, we revolted against the product, and then made cocaine illegal. Now Loosertarians want to pretend non of that happened and repeat that mistake. No thank you.

You have your facts wrong. It was made illegal slowly by requiring only allowed licensed people to sell the product because people only pursing the evil maximum would put the stuff into everything.

The government could have easily stopped with the establishment of the FDA and the only people who would have used it were those who wanted to by choice, not trickery.

How it became illegal does change that it became illegal, and for good reasons, reasons which Loosertarians ignore.

It wasn't a good reason to make it illegal, it was a good reason to ensure that those drugs weren't put into everything.

You don't trust people to make good decisions. You approve of big government.

The "choice" argument doesn't work for hard drugs like it works for abortion, because you can't frame any demographic as a poor downtrodden minority who's lives would be oh so much improved if only they could do a line.

If the merits of the 'choice' argument were valid, rendering the 'choice' argument true, then Pine Ridge reservation would be the nation's capitol.

Like I said, you don't trust people to make good decision and therefore support big government

I don't trust Loosertarians or Liberals to make good decisions, no. They each have a long record of failed and/or harmful policies. They have demonstrated their ineptitude, and show no sign of improvement. They are to be defeated wherever encountered, suppressed into near-extinction, keeping only a few around as a warning to the rest of the world of the immediate personal danger they represent.

So you approve of big government.

I blame Ron Paul's actions on Ron Paul. I blame Trump's actions on Trump. I blame the public allowing this circus to exist, on the public.

The Rent is too Damn High guy says he's running and Fox actually gave him a few seconds of air time. What's up with them? First they give Trump all kinds of air time, now this!
I don't blame them for having Paul on a lot. At least he's running.

Jerry is another practitioner of character assassination.
Isn't worth the time to keep following up.

That is a personal attack.

I did not issue a personal attack to you, nore will I now.

General groups and public figures are legitimate targets as per DP rules. Individual members are not.

Very true, I have to agree, at least Ron Paul is officially running.

You are engaging in character assassination, that is not a personal attack.

Your bobbing and weaving through out the rules, with nuanced 3rd party personal attacks and loaded language, is well noted.
Just pointing it out to others so they don't make the same mistake by trying to reason with you.

:boohoo:

So you see the world as black and white with no room for nuanced positions.

He doesn't have a nuanced position. Hes a republican ideologue. Just admit it.

And his political philosophy is really irrelevant to the topic on this thread.

No, but thats where the conversation went.

I was talking about you.

 you said 'republican' as though I'm in any way affiliated with any party.

However, if this thread is about me now, I would like to ask a Mod to kindly flush this thread so it can proceed in an appropriate venue.

If this thread is not about me, then I would like to get back to taking about how Ron Paul's pseudo-candidacy is a joke just like Trump's.

Hes the only republican currently running that has a chance of beating Obama.

sigh, ok, we can do it this way too.

Moderator's Warning:
The topic is Paul and his presidential candidacy. Please stick to the topic.

I've been asleep for the last few days (long story), has Mitt Romney announced yet?

Mitt Romney can't win the primary. But he wouldn't be able to beat Obama, because the moderates that would have voted for him are going to vote for Obama this time around due to the republican support to destroy medicare and medicaid.
