    actually, America of the 50's
when it was still accepted to discriminate against blacks ... only because you could get away with it

    then it was the gays

    now its the muslims

which group is next to be "it"
No it is not. It is apples and oranges.

Keep in mind that a plane cannot be pulled over on any given street. You are all up in the air with no way to stop in an easy fashion.

You know I am no racist and you know the two are nothing alike. A pilot should be allowed some leeway in reguards to this type of thing in this day of terrorism. What has our own gov. came out and told us to do? If you feel something is not right and if you feel you are viewing something that could be danger? Report it. Even if turns out to be a crap call? Better safe than sorry. I feel if our gov. is willing to call on everyday citizens to be watchful about things? Then I am willing to give this pi8lot a pass on making a crap call. He did it for safety. I am not mad.

    End of story.
I disagree..its easy to sit here and backseat drive and not have the pilots responsibility and make judgements without seeing first hand exactly whats happening or having any direct knowledge.

the 9/11 hijackers weren't dressed in 'muslim garb'... just saying..

i also don't understand why you are apologising. why apologise for a decision you have made that only affects yourself? i doubt anyone would give a rats ass. it's not like it would inconvenience anyone other than you.....

We should not live in fear. The whole point of terrorism is to make you so afraid of the violence that you'll change your lives to avoid it at all costs. Living in fear = victory for bin Laden.
Maybe individual Christians, but they are going against their own belief.

the pilot's action is based on a logical fear of the fact that almost every act of terrorism involving airlines in the last decade was perpetrated by Muslim Males or those appearing toe be muslim males
Yes, because every Muslim terrorist who has a Western target wants to look very conspicuous, and dress in colorful Islamic garb to divert attention and suspicion away from himself

Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

I don't blame the pilot, and he should not be disciplined.

If he was uncomfortable PC can go down the toilet.

Right, if I was sitting next to a skinhead on a plane, and I felt "uncomfortable," I would be justified in asking the captain and the crew to kick him off the plane as well.
