Ban on people who have starred in Reality TV Shows from running for President

I've thought for a long time that Americans' taste for drama and confrontation has fed into a lot of partisan delusions that politicians have capitalized on to keep office in the place of actually resolving the problems our country faces. The recent phenomenon of public persons using history in Reality TV as a political resource might be a masterstroke exploitation of this tendency and may lead to heightened political dysfunction at a time when the country can ill afford it.

Does anyone think that a law banning people who've starred on Reality TV from running for president would be in the public interest?

Pretty sure that would be unconstitutional.

Talk about missing the forest for the trees. Reality TV and American politics both exist as they are because that's how the American public wants them. Until you find a way to fix that, you're not going to be able to fix anything.

I agree that changing our political culture is the ideal way of solving the problem. It's not so much that I specifically want to ban people who've starred on Reality TV so much as whether it is appropriate to pass laws as a passive aggressive way to get around people's defects.

Pretty sure that would be unconstitutional.
It would be hard to make a strong case for it being unconstitutional, although most people would think it was asinine, so it wouldn't need a strong case.

Shy? We have a President who never starred in a reality TV show, or did anything else, and some people think he's the greatest president ever?

Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
