Herman Cain will be running for POTUS. He's making the announcement May 21.
I know lots of you would vote for him in the general, how about the Primary?

GRRRRRRR.......I don't know how to do a poll! Help!

If it comes down to Cain v Palin, or Cain v someone (this is hard to imagine) with less experience than Cain, then yes.

Otherwise. Probably not.

I am looking to jump ships, so to speak, but I'm immensely skeptical of Cain's ideas, approach, and ability to carry through.

Confess. Have never heard of Cain. (but you have given me a reason to go look him up now. :) )

As for your poll generation talents....Hang on to that day job for now.

.

.

Ok. Back now.

Nope. Not voting for him.....

.

Under "Thread Tools" is how you add a poll, I believe.

If I do vote in the republican primaries(which I might), no I won't.

If I were to vote for someone it could be Gary Johnson.
I like Herman Cain, mostly for local reasons, but as far as politics go Gary Johnson is more likely to fit me politically.

Barb - on this page, click on thread tools --> add a poll to this thread.

Thanks Mellie!
Now how do I go back and and add an N and a question mark?:lamo

Not sure if you can, but I took care of it.

And no, I would not vote for him in primary or general.

If Mitch Daniels doesn't run YES.

But if he doesn't get anywhere in the polls I will vote for Huckabee(if he runs).

It looks like Daniels might be going to throw his hat in.

Probably not. He is better on immigration than Ron Paul but over all if David Duke runs I will be doing all I can to get him elected even if it is a lost cause...

Dallas talk show host, Mark Davis, interviews Herman Cain. If you want to skip the first 1:25 that it takes to introduce the interview you can. :D

Awesome! Thank you Mark Davis for having him on.
The more Cain talks the more I love him, if that's even possible. :)

I'm going to try to use this thread to keep current with Cain's opinions etc.
Here's something I just found.

Cain Slams Obama for Bringing 'Poisonous' Rapper to White House

“Common,” who has glorified police killers and sang about burning President George W. Bush, would not be invited to his White House.

“Here’s the deal: In a Herman Cain administration, I, nor my wife, would ever invite someone to the White House that has espoused that kind of poisonous rhetoric — we simply wouldn’t have done it,” Cain said. “Does Michele Obama have a right to do that? Yes. Does the president have the right to do that? Yes. But I think it says a very bad thing.”

Cain said the rapper, who also has songs with misogynic lyrics, “does not have a broader message.”

“So the fact that they want to defend this — I don’t think they are defending it on a very broad ground whatsoever,” he said. “I, or my wife, or my family would have never invited him to the White House — they can defend it all they want to, but it’s not going to change the fact that they have an arrogant disregard — an arrogant disregard — for many of the values that most of us believe in, in this country.”

The more Cain talks the more I love him, if that's even possible.

what about beck? do you have that big a heart?

what about beck? do you have that big a heart?

I've never wanted Beck as my president, but yea, he still holds a special place in my heart. Hey, thanks for the reminder. He's on in an hour :)

:2dancing:Whooohooo! New Iowa Poll!

BREAKING: New Iowa Poll Gives Herman Cain Double-Digit Lead But Iowans Unsure

A new poll shows businessman Herman Cain being favored by 24% of Iowa conservatives, giving him a double-digit lead over the field of the possible G.O.P. contenders. But the poll also revealed great uncertainty about the Republican field among Iowa conservatives.
The poll, conducted by the 2012 Iowa Report (a sister site to CampaignTrailReport.com), exclusively surveyed Iowa conservatives between May 4-10. The top vote getters after Cain were: Mike Huckabee (12%), Newt Gingrich (10%), Ron Paul (9%) and Sarah Palin (8%). Michele Bachman, Donald Trump, Mit Romney, and Tim Pawlenty were bunched from 7% to 4%.

Then Mitch it will be for me

Indeed. Though I don't think Cain will be a threat to him, and so I welcome him in the race - as I think it will be a freshener.

Hmmm... A Daniels/Cain ticket? though Daniels has hinted he would think about picking Condi Rice instead.... I would wonder if the size of Cain's personality would hinder Daniels, though.

I think at this point we are seeing the relief of the Republicans at seeing that SOMEONE is running who can articulate conservatism his brand of, and also a solid bump from his debate performance. If he continues to do well, he could be this year's Huckabee.

But the poll is pre-Daniels roll-out. We'll have to see how that effects the numbers of all concerned. Iowa is a social conservative state, but from there you go straight to New Hampshire.
