I see a lack of places to go to eat, a lack of entertainment venues, etc.

I look at it and see a place to fish, a place to ride horses or 4wheelers or dirtbikes, room for a shooting range, hunting, room to breathe, privacy, beautiful trees and mountains in the distance, a place to keep horses or cattle and crops... I like.

I grew up in the country, lived in the city a while and decided I didn't like it. No privacy, annoying neighbors, traffic from hell, no peace and quiet, traffic from hell, too many people obsessed with status and style and superficialities, traffic from hell, no room to do many of the things I like to do, traffic from hell, too many laws and rules and nosy busybodies, and did I mention: traffic from hell?

I'll take the country thanks. I'm GLAD so many of you prefer the city... more room for me.

In the city of Grand Rapids MI.

All of those are display areas for the Grand Rapids ArtPrize contest.

    The winning entry last year:

All of this not more than 10 minutes from fine dining, theater, several museums, lots of shopping.

Everyone knows what a 4 way STOP is right?

4way Stop in the city: Everybody tries to go first. Horns blare, tires squeal, curses are screamed, fingers are extended. After 15 crashes in a week, the city gives up and puts in a traffic light.

4way Stop in the country: Two pickups, one tractor-trailer, and a station wagon all sit at the stop for over a minute, waving each other on, trying to be the most patient and polite. Finally everyone makes the grey-haired lady go first.

    Rural, hands down.

I love living in the country.
City blows, to much traffic, to many people, I prefer quiet solitude.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

Oh, I like to VISIT the city. I live within a day-trip of Atlanta, GA. LOVE their zoo, aquarium, museums, restaurants, etc.

Don't want to LIVE there tho... too many people jammed in too tight. Sardines.
