Was Pakistan's sovereign a lesser concern?

Should have Pakistan's sovereign been a lesser concern for the US?

Pakistan is a failed corrupted state full of Islamists and other morons, no one should have any interest for supposed "sovereignty" of this Banana Republic. Obama is gradually getting more right, that's good.

Pakistan has nuclear weapons and thus anyone with half and brain will respect their sovereignty. Performing military operations on their soil is an act of war and invites violent retaliation.

In this case, the Pakistani military is allowing such attacks, regardless of what they say. If they actually were against it, they wouldn't be allowing U.S. supply convoys into Afghanistan.

Only if the Pakistanis want their country turned into a green-glass parking lot.

We're paying Pakistan billions to allow US supply convoys into Afghanistan. And the Taliban/Al Qaeda are paying Pakistan millions for the route information that allows them to routinely destroy those US supply convoys. Pakistan doesn't give a damn about U.S. interests. They only care about taking bribes from both sides and letting both sides blow each other up.

Doesn't matter. Committing acts of war against a nuclear power is an unacceptable risk. If Pakistan actually wants us out, the only sane thing to do is leave.

anytime we decide to shut down Pakistan's nuclear facilities, they get shut down. Pakistan can suck an egg.

how do you think it should have been handled?

When Pakistan tried to claim credit, we should have thanked them for their "assistance". It would have forced the government to work closer with us to save face, rather than forcing them to distance themselves.

You make out:

A) Only the US gains from this relationship
B) They have the balls to use those nuclear weapons
C) They have the technology to propel them onto mainland US

Yep, and it would also have had the added benefit of depriving everyone of any justification for accusing us of "violating their sovereignty". Musharaf would have sounded ridiculous saying what he did, so he, for example, wouldn't be spouting off at all.
