I am a left handed individual. Are left handed people abnormal?

Few people consider me normal ...

If I consider you normal does that make me abnormal for being part of the few people that consider you normal?

If you consider me normal, you would be the first. My wife doesn't even consider me normal

(and I am a lefty, if nobody has figured that out yet)

You are abnormal, but I don't base that on your being sinister.

Lots of great people ere lefthanded, so being "abnormal" or having an abnormal trait isn't a bad thing.

Best post of the week.

Of course, and they should all be placed in camps so they can't shove their left handedness down my throat!!!

Bigot! I demand equal rights for the left handed. It's not fair that I have to endure back pain when taking tests because arm desks are only oriented for right handed people. It's not fair that I have to use pencils that spread led all over my hand when writing. It's wrong that I cannot utilize the inner part of a notebook because the orientation of my writing style does not meet the criteria of how right handed people bind their books! I want equal rights and no one should have the right to deny me my rights as a human and a left handed person. How does my left handedness affect or hinder the sanctity of right handedness?

So people putting their right hand down your throat is ok?

You have no right for things to be fair.

Why should my books change because you are just unwilling to practice with your right hand? Why should society change for the minority, why should society change because you just enjoy sinning? Why should I be forced to accept your left hand perversions by seeing your left handed paraphernalia? I have a right to not be offended damn it!!! The USA has always been predominately a right handed country, if you can't change, then your welcome to get the **** out

One of the better satirical responses. Good job.

Your books wouldn't change. All I am asking for is access to books that fit my writing orientation. Your books wouldn't change at all, I would just have access to the same privilege that you have as a right handed individual who can utilize the central parts of books and is not hindered by the books binding. I'm not asking society to change, I'm only asking that I have the same access to what the majority of society takes for granted. Why should you be allowed to force your belief that being left handed is a sin? Is it because tradition holds that left handed people are an outcast and abomination (which is true btw). I'm not asking you to accept my "left handed perversions." You have every right to believe my writing orientation is a sin or a perversion. I'm just asking that you treat me equally and give me the same rights and privileges that you freely enjoy as a right handed individual. The USA is a nation that was founded upon personal freedom and the equality of all people. It would be going against the spirit and tradition of American values for you to impose your harsh judgments upon all left handed individuals.

Since the norm would be right-handed, yes, left-handed folks are abnormal. There is also research that shows they have personality traits that differ from right-handed folks with higher risk-taking behavior being one of them. For the record, there isn't just right- or left-handed people. Some have a slight preference for one hand or the other and some have a very strong preference. Oh, and truly left-handed people supposedly have a better ability to recover from strokes and enjoy a life expectancy 10 years shorter than right-handed people.

Of course, I'm left-handed but after growing up in a right-handed world I am largely ambidextrous. I right-handed neighbor asked to use my computer to get on the net for something and she complained about my mouse being on the left. "You don't understand how inconvenient it is." Oh, I think I do, nitwit.

In the first grade, I was isolated with two other left-handed students. We were all hit, had our left hands tied so we couldn't use them. For me, it was a great experience for teaching me to deal with the world. I was the only one of the three that stayed left-handed. That always bothered my father.

Of course, right-handed people will insist that the left-handed are normal. Otherwise, they'd have to deal with the inferiority of the majority. The proud, the few, the lefties.

This thread has gotten too serious. I am going back to the thread where we are talking about YS's underwear and boobs.

No, we're awesome. Lefties unite!

And digsbe with an excellent satirical response.

Once, a long time ago, another poster and I did an entire Middle East debate in metaphors. Some of the best fun I ever had.

You talk of freedom, and equality, but you fail to realize that the Constitution was written with a right hand! And was not intended to apply to left-handed perverts! And you also say that you having "equality" will not effect me in anyway, but you are so blinded by your left-handed sin that you fail to realize such action would have horrendous effects upon MY country! You must know that all people are born right-handed, and only choose to be left-handed because either they are perverted demon people who should be cast out of our country, or they as a young child came into contact with a left-handed person, and they recruited them. Which one are you? And since it is 100% a choice, normalizing it would cause the children of this country to go "hey, writing with my left hand seems pretty cool, I'm gonna try it" and within 1 generation our country will be nothing but a bunch of left handed liberal demon people!! Is that what you want for the USA??? I will not have my children live in a world where they have to be confused about their handedness!!! Why do you hate my children????

OK. This may be the best line in this entire satire.

The simplest solution is for you to learn Arabic, or Korean, or any language written from right to left. Then you can write to your heart's content, with ink free hands and clothing. Not many people will understand what you write, but you can't have your cake and eat it.

For all you know when the Constitution was written people may have been masking their left-handedness in fear of oppression. People have treated my left handedness as a disease. Up until recently people would forbid students from writing with their left hand (no lie). The Constitution says everyone was created equal, it makes no mention of writing orientation so who are you to read in your values into our founding document? I challenge you to name one legitimate area that my left handedness would affect you or your right handedness. I never chose to write with my left hand. Numerous studies are being conducted. Many say that left handedness develops in the womb or that it develops as a child is nurtured and grows an affinity for the left hand. I can guarantee you that I was not born as a right handed person. No one recruited me into being a left handed person either. When I developed and learned to write it just came natural to me to use my left hand. What I want for the USA is freedom and equality. My left handedness affects you in no negative way just like your right handedness doesn't affect me. However, what does affect me is your bigoted views and oppressive beliefs that my left handedness disqualifies me from being treated equally. I would never deny you your rights to use a right handed desk or notebook, but please respect my wishes and my desire to have the same rights! I don't hate your children nor do I hate you. But let me ask you a question. If one of your children was left handed what would you do? Would you stop loving your child?
