Regarding Illegal Immigration: Who is to Blame?

Regarding Illegal Immigration: Who is to Blame?

Obama and the Socialist Liberal Clan have done a bang up job of opening the gates of the US to all the Illegals that care to enter!!!!

I think that's far enough to see just what kind of an article you're linking to.

First, illegal immigration was a problem before Obama was born.
Second, what the (bleep) is a "socialist liberal"?

Both of the major parties have ignored illegal immigration for decades. The last time an attempt was made to stop it was during the Eisenhower administration.
Neither party wants to stop illegal immigration, because their corporate sponsors like the cheap labor (IMO, of course, that could be wrong, but it is certainly plausible.)

That link sounds to me like a RWENJ site.

Illegal immigration happens because poor conditions in Mexico make it attractive to come to the united states for work. Many American businesses/people enjoy the the cheap labor. The number of people is greater than immigration laws allow, so many enter illegally.

Trying to find someone to blame is pretty stupid. There aren't really any easy solutions to the problem. Legalizing drugs, more border security and better options for legal immigration will help, but won't be enough on their own. The ultimate solution to create good-paying jobs in Mexico so people don't have an incentive to leave, but that is a monumental task outside the control of the U.S.

The Country of Mexico

I blame Mexico as a whole. They encourage it and they also to blame because of the condition of their country.

The Judicial System of the US

Considering the fact there are cases where farmers/rancher being forced to pay money to illegals and the fact part of Arizona's anti-illegal immigration is on hold I do blame the judicial system.

The Illegal Mexicans
I blame them and illegals from other countries because no one forced any illegal alien to come here.

Presidents Obama & Bush

I blame them because they like some of the scum in office insist on tossing the salad of illegals by trying to offer amnesty or some form of it.

The US Congress

I definitely blame them because after all they make the laws, heck they are more to blame than the president because the president can't write his own laws. These scum have done everything they can to undermine the border patrol and ICe, our laws as well as try to entice people to come over here illegally with promises pf amnesty or some form of it.

The US / Mexican Boarder Patrol

I do not blame them because this has to do with the scum in office tossing the salad of illegals.Border patrol can only hire so many boots on the ground. They are at the mercy of the scum in office in how well they do their job and whether or not they can effectively do their job.

Individual State Laws

Most definately because they like the scum in office toss the salad of illegals. They allow sanctuary cities, they allow benifits to illegals. States can do what Oklahoma and Arizona have done and enact and enforce laws against illegals on the state level. They can set up laws that make it to where employers are required to use e-verify, deny licenses,ID and other documents to someone who is here illegally, enact laws that require that you must present a state ID to get tax payer funded services and benefits and they can require law enforce to verify the legal status of anyone they pull over for a traffic offense just like they do with warrants.

Local Law Enforcement

These people just like the BP are the mercy of the scum in office. So I do not blame them.

The Law of the United States of America

We have laws on the books that deal with illegals. Its the fact that the scum in office are choosing to ignore or undermine them.So I do not blame the law.

Other

The scumbags who hire illegals. It because of them selling out this country for dirt cheap labor why people come here. They are the pawnshop who says they ask no questions in a crime infested area. If these scumbags were punished with prison, assets seizure and forfeitures, loss of business licenses and huge fines then they would not hire illegals in the first place.

I would blame the Illegal immigrants over anything else. I believe in personal responsibility and they knew exactly what they were doing.

Mexicans should dedicate their effort to improve the country they are born in, It took a LOT of time/hard work/money/debate/blood for our American ancestors to make our country the way it is today.
It's like you and a friend start from poverty, but you end up doing very well for yourself and end up with a huge house, garden crop, w/ money... now your old friend ditched his effort and sneaks into your house to sleep on your couch and eat your food, but hey He mowes your lawn for you! All while his family is still in the house next door... starving and Big Willy from across the street is now taking over the place because he can and is now selling drugs to your friend that is sleeping on the couch, who is now selling to your kids, resulting in your kids going to jail.... and then the world ends

... I totally went overboard on the analogy :lamo

Make them walk back, or do time at hard labor.

NAFTA, US History, and the economy/"free" market.

1. The welfare state

2. Minimum Wage

3. The massive red tape with legal immigration

4. Unsecured borders

5. Mexican politicians looking to score nationalist/populist political points in Mexico to distract the populace from its own problems

6. Drug War

7. The illegal immigrant themselves

i disagree
there is a very simple, effective solution available if our congress would implement it
and it would require little modification to existing law
and almost no additional cost

we need to do the following:
deny any drivers license, bank account, schooling, social welfare, medical care (excepting only that to prevent fatality), or employment - to anyone who does not have a valid social security number (easy to check now) or who is without a valid pink (formerly green) card

being unable to get a job, housing, utilities, driving or any other license, schooling, social assistance or medical attention, being in the USA as an undocumented alien becomes a lot less attractive

the undocumented aliens will get themselves back across the border because the opportunities they came for will no longer be available to them

the other wrinkle to current law we need to amend:
if you notify homeland security/ICE (formerly INS) of an undocumented worker, who is then found to be undocumented, the employer will be heavily fined and the person who reported the undocumented worker will receive the fine paid by that employer
the fine will double with each conviction
we will have a huge new cottage industry. blue collar workers especially, those displaced by illegals willing to work for the prevailing wage, would be able to eliminate those who have taken their jobs while also enjoying the bounty paid by the employer of the illegal

do these two things and that woosh sound you hear will be the caravan of illegals making their way south

Yes, but you see, that would put an end to illegal immigration. No one in power in Washington really wants to do that. What they want to do is make people think that they're trying to do something about it.

Manc Skipper has given us the answer in his sig line:

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.

Illegal immigrants are a great hobgoblin, so practical politicians want to keep the status quo, while blaming the other party for the situation.

It also explains why Osama Bin Laden is still free after all this time and blood.

accidentally deleted my post! Dang.

You see, the problem with that solution is that it would actually work. No one in Washington wants a solution that actually works, as then they wouldn't be able to blame the other guy for doing nothing. What they would rather do is rant about building an expensive and most likely ineffective fence, thus keeping the status quo in place and their cheap labor loving supporters happy.

A few hints:

1) Illegal immigrants come from many countries

2) People are responsible for their own actions

3) not all illegal immigrants are from Mexico

4) using retarded op/ed's as source material is stupid

5) Illegal immigrants, no matter their country of origin, are and always have been at fault for their choosing to break the law.

Im focusing on MEXICAN illegals on this poll.
Its NOT op/ed. Its a real TRUE event and it seems to happen often. ANd yes of course this their own fault but it is also a shared fault. Its almost like Mexico WANTS them to come here illegally and our current laws are failing us.

This is pretty much the way things work nowadays. Unfortunately, that doesn't work. There are too many employers willing to hire under the table, and SS numbers can also be obtained through fraud.

if you notify homeland security/ICE (formerly INS) of an undocumented worker, who is then found to be undocumented, the employer will be heavily fined and the person who reported the undocumented worker will receive the fine paid by that employer

That is unlikely to have much of an impact. Regular citizens would have a hard time obtaining any proof of their co-workers immigration status. They also would probably face negative consequences at their job for reporting, which lowers the reporting rate.

The link is a biased piece of crap. There were 20+ million illegals in this country before Obama took office, so trying to blame this crap on him is complete rubbish. Who's to blame? Lots of people. First, the US government is to blame, because it refuses to enforce it's own immigration laws and secure the border. Republicans won't vote for crackdowns because they depend on money from the businesses that want cheap, exploitable labor. Democrats won't vote for crackdowns because they depend on the hispanic vote to keep them in office. The Mexican government is to blame, because they hand out maps and tell their poor to go north, then send the money they make back to Mexico.

Bah. Stupid poll for a really serious problem.

Only country of Mexico is to blame because there are very few immigrants from the good and wealthy countries.

Mexico (and all the other countries that illegal immigrants come from) suck. That's basically the whole reason illegal immigration even happens. Is it Mexico's fault that they suck? idk.
