For one, sexual intercourse is not something to be sold. With it comes the risk of pregnancy. What happens when a prostitute gets pregnant? What if a prostitute has a disease but does not state that and winds up infecting people for cash? It's not a good "business" and there is no good with it being legalized. Sex is not something that should be bought or sold.

I think the city of Reno, NV would beg to differ on no good coming from it being legalized. As far as getting an STD (Disease) goes, look at it as a 2 for one deal. Your dumb enough to pay for sex then you just might be lucky enough to win the STD lottery and get one thrown in.

Maybe you should stay away from the discount hookers.

Since this is stupid post day, why not.
I don't see where the constitution addresses the issue at all, either way.

Prostitution was largely legal at the beginning, in fact for the western expansion, some States made a lot of income off of it. It started becoming largely illegal later.

I never understood why I could have sex with someone for free, but if money should exchange hands it would suddenly become a crime.

I'd leave it to the states to decide. Federal government has no place making such a decision.
Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

It was not condemned or punished until much later. It was legal for some time. It's kinda like booze. It was all legal at the beginning till some prudes got it up their butt that they had the right to tell us what to do and what to consume; and went on some moral crusade to ban alcohol. This isn't really the government's concern, it's a personal and private matter. But there's no real crime when it comes to prostitution, not innately. And the use of actual brothels and proper regulation can alleviate a lot of the crime which has grown up around prostitution.
