Who is the government to tell ME that I cant have sexual intercourse with someone else for money? It has nothing to do with right or wrong good or bad it has to do with whether you should be allowed to or not. The government can tell you not to kill someone because thats someone else, but the government can't tell you you cant sell yourself. Because thats you.

You have mandated testing and regulations on houses, you can remove women from the often abusive relationship of hooker and pimp. I mean, you'll never get rid of street walking, but if you go to a union endorsed and supported whore house you're probably at least promoting the well being of whores more so than hiring one off the streets.

In the end, prostitution in any form will never go away and it's not really in and off itself a "crime" (where's the victim?). So since that seems to be the case, might as well allow it and regulate it to ensure proper working conditions and wages.
oh, i agree. but the prostitutes would have to be the ones to vote themselves a union.

In Canada prostitution is not illegal, but the public communication of it is. So is operating a common bawdy house

Hmm, that sounds like my free the polygamist protest. What right does this government have to tell me I cannot marry the two women I love and share my life with?

As far as sell yourself, every worker does that. Compare to two boxers or a field of football players selling their bodies for a living.

Re: Prostitution: Constitutional or Unconstitutional? You Decide

I think the question is poorly phrased, the better question is are laws protecting or regulating prostitution Constitutional? Commercial activity is rarely characterized as Constitutional or unconstitutional, but LAWS can be.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

Exactly, they sell themselves for entertainment as do prostitutes, but prostitutes dont get near as much media attention.

I have lots of experience as a union official if they need any hands on help bringing this to a head.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Dealing with the increased possibility of getting HIV isn't punishment?
