How is it worse? Or just in mass consumption in society in general?
Would make sense. Are you a granola type that goes for the local honey? (which is always very healthy for you) Do you spurn artificial sweeteners? Do you go for plain old sugar? (if it's even real sugar anymore)
I, personally chew on the sugar cane sticks harvested by the broken-backed-brownie slave children of the tropical regions of the earth.
(I don't mean anything by that btw)
I just read an article in Prevention Mag about HFCS. The article says that HFCS the Fructose goes straight the liver whereas sugar does not...they metabolize differently and HFCS may cause higher and faster weight gain therefore contributing to the obesity epidemic. Am I saying this is fact? NO!! because I dont know.
The article also said there is a 3 yr study being conducted on HFCS right now and the results should become public in the summer.
Sugar, excess sugar leads to excess calories. Excess weight has quite a few more problems than simply overdoing your salt.
"It is a sad day in society when people adjust the facts to fit their beliefs, rather than adjust their beliefs to fit the facts."
Sugar is worse. Salt is bad for those who have high blood pressure. For all other's it's perfectly fine. Excess sugar is bad for everyone, it leads to weight gain which may also contribute to blood pressure problems where salt must be limited.
