Salt or sugar: which is worse?
    High fructose corn syrup.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

How is it worse? Or just in mass consumption in society in general?

It's just ****ing unnatural and bad for you, and used in way too many food products. I refuse to consume anything with HFCS. I've felt better ever since.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Would make sense. Are you a granola type that goes for the local honey? (which is always very healthy for you) Do you spurn artificial sweeteners? Do you go for plain old sugar? (if it's even real sugar anymore)

I, personally chew on the sugar cane sticks harvested by the broken-backed-brownie slave children of the tropical regions of the earth.

(I don't mean anything by that btw)

I just read an article in Prevention Mag about HFCS. The article says that HFCS the Fructose goes straight the liver whereas sugar does not...they metabolize differently and HFCS may cause higher and faster weight gain therefore contributing to the obesity epidemic. Am I saying this is fact? NO!! because I dont know.
The article also said there is a 3 yr study being conducted on HFCS right now and the results should become public in the summer.

A lot of products have "sugar" but its really corn syrup, not too good for you. Organic cane sugar can be somewhat beneficial (not to mention tasty).

Iodized table salt is not very good for you either, but natural sea salt can be somewhat good for you.

The key in all this is quantity, too much of any salt and too much of any sugar can be bad for you.

    Just know your limit!
Is there any proof of this ?
To the best of my knowledge, to the body sugar is sugar, salt is salt.
What counts is the balanced diet and exercise.

Our bodies have never been exposed to glucose syrup or refined white sugar. They are human inventions. All sugars we ate in pre-industrial times were contained in the whole foods we ate. So yes, to the body it is still sugar, but it is at concentrations so high that it has toxic effects.

Sugar, excess sugar leads to excess calories. Excess weight has quite a few more problems than simply overdoing your salt.

Sugar is worse. Salt is bad for those who have high blood pressure. For all other's it's perfectly fine. Excess sugar is bad for everyone, it leads to weight gain which may also contribute to blood pressure problems where salt must be limited.
