Agree. I will say this: I need to start taking more effort in reguards to what I put in my body. I admit to eating fast food and after working? I am lazy as hell. I also buy junk at the store but am really gonna make a serious effort these next few months to eat better. I also need to get back to my walking. I have been slacking since Dec. and well I can tell it. I will never be some health or exercise freak (as in lives for it) but I need to get back to the Earth and Nature. BTW, I am not anywhere near obese: I am 5'8 or maybe 5'7 heh and weigh around 155-160 pounds right now. Maybe some would view me as fat but whatever.

I am very excited about this community garden thing and some of us have plans on weekends to walk at the local highschool track. I will do this on top of walking around my where I live a few times around the block. I actually walked aroound for an hour this evening and felt so wonderful. See I been stuck in a rut or something and just been not enjoying things. But I am gonna get ME back! Anyways this is not about me but you are so right. You can even take small steps to eat more healthy and the key is to get your ass moving.

In my family, teasing is far less offensive than being direct about your concerns about a family member's health. It isn't about making oneself feel better when its coming from people who care about you, unless you're dealing with a complete asshole. I consider it highly effective on people who a slight weight problem, or who are beginning to let themselves go.

Teasing someone who is well past warning and is full blown obese is wrong IMO though, at that point a truly concerned loved one would cut straight to the point. "Dude, you need to hit the gym daily starting now... and no I don't want to go in on a pizza."

Haymarket's "support" of the 2nd Amendment, a right he believes we never had.

It is true, Communique. My experience as a penny pincher, as well as the 20 books I've read on frugality and saving money show that fresh "organic" foods are indeed more expensive. Fast food is cheap, as well as junk food. As food became more easily processed throughout the decades, an obesity problem ensued. Not only that, but corn fuel has increased food costs. You should read the food section of a book titled "be thrifty... not cheap". Processed food is cheaper, less healthy, and bad for your health. Take this from an avid frugal person.
