I am thankful I don't have to work as hard to thin, and I can enjoy sweets and ice cream frequently... I have heard horror stories about people getting by pass surgeries to save their life, and I am always thankful that isn't me.
So, TWO THIRDS of Americans are prone to being overweight or obese? Do you HONESTLY believe that? Face it... Americans are LAZY... they don't care about their own physical fitness. There is a stereotype around the world about Americans and their weight issues. It is pathetic when I walk around here and nearly every American and Canadian I see here tips the scales at well over 200 points. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a particularly obese man with an armfull of food at Costco... and he was eating alone...

Don't give me this genetic bullcrap. Americans are lousy eaters and don't exercise enough... Once again, the excuses from those defending the fat and obese rear their ugly head.

Not true... you love to put words in the mouths of others, don't you. I prefer the more atheltic type. That French model that died a few weeks ago (the anorexic one) was just plain disgusting...

A pretty, in shape Taiwanese girl (especially a runner or triathlete) is about as good as it gets...

Or maybe all of them as this is a repeat of a show that aired on other networks.

So my question is do you feel it is child abuse to overfeed your children and allow them to overeat to the point of being this obese?

I know that in our culture sometimes cooking and feeding is the act of showing love but feeding your children to the point where it takes the fire dept. to get them out of the house and to the hospital is not love.
I believe society should be able to control itself.
I also believe companies have doped up society and have made us addicted to food; from commercials and advertising we see as children through adulthood, companies do share some of the blame.

If you read my comments, you'd notice I said that parents should teach their children better habits. It really makes me mad when people feed their kids fast food, their overweight, and the parents don't put them in sports or nothing.

Americans don't exercise a lot compared to other countries, and Americans spend more time working a day than other countries, so busy Americans tend to find fast food convenient. Most Americans don't walk to a market everyday and buy fresh foods, nor are most American towns and cities arranged in a way that makes walking everywhere easy. I used to live in Europe myself. I know how it is here, and it has a lot to do with culture, not just gluttony.

But they became bigger before they reached their tweens and teens. "Little" Bill was not a big baby or toddler, he started getting bigger when he was maybe around 10-12 year old range and it was due to what food he was fed and non-active lifestyle.

It is not like these teens just got fat as soon as they hit 13. It took sometime to put the weight on and their parents are a major factor in this.

Not only this, but next time you go to the grocery store look around and see how much of it is processed, unhealthy food. I'd say about 98% of the supermarket is processed, fatty, carby unhealthy crap loaded with preservatives, artificial flavors/colors and other unidentifiable chemicals.

True but look around at the price of fresh healthy foods. People have to have food to eat and they are gonna buy what fits into their budget. This is why I really wish people that own any kind of land would start doing a garden. Heck you can even do container gardens if you have a small place. Honestly this summer? I am helping with a community garden and am also planting things in my own yard to where this summer? I am gonna eat mainly out of these. Now while I love fresh foods? I am not a rabbit so there will still be meat, fish and chicken tossed in.

Healthy foods really aren't more expensive than processed crap, that's pretty much a myth, you can eat healthy, fresh foods for the same budget as you would processed garbage.

It is not a myth. Fresh foods cost more than processed foods and that is a fact.

Also d9o not forget that weather plays a major part in reguards to fresh foods while processed foods stay the same pretty much.
