A major start toward slashing costs is looking at the manufacturing pharmaceutical companies and how they're gaulging prices to hospitals. If you look at other countries similar is not the exact same medicine is drastically cheaper in some fields.

Also I think that malpractice needs to be changed. Humans aren't perfect and they're going to make mistakes over their careers, everyone does. If you're willing to go to the particular hospital and doctor then hopefully you have at least invested some time and thought into why you picked him (his field of expertise and experience) you shouldn't be able to sue for millions if something goes wrong.

But people love their silver bullet solutions, even when they put no real thought into it.
The US Government Is Evil. It oppresses people around the globe via the IMF and International Bank. It abuses people of color and encourages sexist anti-woman policies here at home. It sends our young men into imperialistic wars where it uses their blood to fuel it's war machine which is designed to murder foriegn children in return for dirty foriegn oil; which it prefers to get because it can't pollute here in the US as much as it would like. It may or may not have been responsible for the mass-murder of Americans on 9/11, but either way it has leaped on that attack and used the emotions from it to keep American citizens in the dark and bloodthirsty to feed it's sick, twisted, evil military industrial halliburton complex that feeds off the suffering of innocents.

that's why we want it in charge of our healthcare.

I regret not adding a fourth option, but it was too late when I created the poll. So my poll is somwhat skewed to the left. What I should have done is to provide a fourth opton, which is a private option with no government handouts or regulations. If you want today's system, but want to move away from employers-based system, then in essence you want today's system with some modifications.

Secondly there are countries where they have a more liberalised health care system than the US. (Some poor countries and old USA)

However, I believe Americans would be quite happy with Australia's system. Did you guys know that 43% of Australians are on private health insurance. Among Americans it is 69% who is on private health insurance. If you earn above a certain income in the Australia, then you have to pay more in tax if you choose to use governmental health care. Secondly, private health care offers more and better services. This prevents liberals from overregulating the private health care, keeps cost down and also make sure that everyone recieve health care.

We can start by making sure everyone has health care and work our way down. I chose UHC with private option. That way the rich can still have the spoils.

I'm definitely looking towards NZ or some other similar country.
I was discovering that life just simply isn't fair and bask in the unsung glory of knowing that each obstacle overcome along the way only adds to the satisfaction in the end. Nothing great, after all, was ever accomplished by anyone sulking in his or her misery.

yup. one of the upsides of being #10 on the scale of freedom is there are 9 other places to flee to.
