I'd like to see the Jersey Shore arrested for their fashion...

So I;m hearing on CNN right now that covering the face is no part of Muslim law but is a"custom" of some Muslim groups. Which answers my question about Allah demanding this.

How about I crouch down behind a woman covering her face and then somebody push her over me?

I think pretty soon there will be a new Muslim custom!

    No.

However, it must be against the law to force women to wear them. Let the muslim men wear them if they feel they should be worn.

All these arguments, like the foolish people wanting to ban Koran burning, shred themselves on the First Amendment.

And, particularly, banks and other commercial establishments should not be subject to any civil rights lawsuits if they post warnings that a person's face must be uncovered to enter the establishment.

Well the law in France banned anything covering the face, be it veils, balaclavas or masks. Can you imagine all the kids that'd get arrested on Halloween if the US introduced a similar law?

France has lost freedom, that's all there is to that. There are already laws in France against beating women to make them conform, aren't there? Then should't those laws be enforced someday?

isn't there already a law to not wear something that covers your face in public? ... anyway i think this is BS, anyone should be able to wear anything, i dont care if it jepordizes public saftey, it's worth the freedom.

Yes, it would be called "testifying in court that certain juveniles need to be kept in reform school".

No. on what ground do you think you can legislate the way I dress. Indecent exposure has been well defined. Since this does not fall under that, any law enacted would violate my constitutional right of freedom of expression.

To anyone actually proposing this: **** off and get out of my life and stop thinking you can control my opinions.

A law outlawing it would be ridiculous and horribly unconstitutional.

I have no issues with certain govermental functions requiring you to remove it as you would have to remove any other head covering, such as a drivers liscense photo. I also have no issues if a private establishment wishes to prohibit it. But there should not be a law making it illegal to wear.
